Front-end design review of the CommunityMech site against dataviz + artifact-design. Tracked in the cross-Mech umbrella (culturebotai-claw).

Addressed

• Dark mode absent → dark theme + toggle (Toggleable dark theme + reduced-motion guard (CommunityMech site) #196)

• Per-community d3 loaded from CDN → local ../d3.v7.min.js (Load d3 locally on per-community pages (drop CDN dependency) #195)

Open / not in this pass

• Network legend hard-codes all 10 interaction types even when a community has one or two — render only present types. (PR Render only the interaction types a community actually has (#199) #268)
• UMAP/graph header lacks the brand hero gradient (cosmetic; partially eased by dark work).
• Filters sit below the plot (rubric prefers above) — deliberate layout choice.
• templates/community.html.j2 is a stale/dead duplicate — delete. Already gone — templates/ now holds only two research Markdown files. Note the surviving src/communitymech/templates/community.html.j2 is a different, live file driving just gen-community-pages (render_community_pages.py:121) and must not be deleted.
