As of build 2026.1.10 there doesn't seem to be a way to revert to the classic look, either. The toggle is greyed out.

Even something as simple as showing 1.7.1 -> 1.7.2 was removed from the non-list view. Like, why?

Not only did they change the UI and make it so it's not optional, but they also broke UniGet performing multiple actions such as Uninstall package, then update it on a WinGet package. At first I thought everyone was just being a doomer and throwing a tantrum over nothing regarding AI and UniGet moving forward. Now I understand that they were right all along. It just took me being affecting by the AI slop and bug it created to realize this. It's a shame.

Also there are package updates listed for some chocolate packages that can't be upgraded due to insufficient privileges. Sorry but there are a lot of bugs, changes for UnigetUI I don't like, so I'm out and back using winget cli.

The new UI is awful. Don't forget that the app was literally called WingetUI when it first launched. Giving up on native windows UX just to support macOS and Linux (which already have better package managers anyways) is just pure backwards thinking.

Actually the transition to the new graphics to support new platforms is not that bad, it's just that for now the new UI seems a little unready to me.

We are keeping both classic and modern UIs temporarily, the best thing you can do is simply open specific, detailed issues for problems you find in the new one, such that when we drop the classic UI, the new modern UI will fit your needs.

I reverted to before Martin started migrating the code for this new owner, so much better. But God knows how long before it breaks or they actively sabotage it. What are our options following this rug pull, anything for win that comes remotely close to ugetui?

I've reverted back to just using the terminal most of the time. It actually tends to work when I run an update where several packages just don't install correctly through Uniget for some reason. I found the whole thing to work better back in the WingetUI days.

We (Devolutions) are making those changes. The logo had to be redesigned to fit the style of our other logos.

It's not a one person thing, we've reviewed several drafts internally for the new icon, and finally settled on this one which satisfied everyone. You would have been right to be angry at the first internal draft for the icon, but for that final choice, it's honestly quite suitable. I genuinely like it, and even if you don't believe me right now, you'll get used to it.

It seems to me that yours is the only one person thing, have a look at all the comments and the upvotes in this discussion.

Noted, you, and a few other users that upvoted your comment, don't like the new icon. I personally like it, and there was internal consensus leading to this new icon design being chosen. There are 300,000 monthly active users of UniGetUI, we cannot please everyone.

Corporate internal consensus doesn't dictate community taste. Hiding behind a 300k user metric to ignore unanimous negative feedback in your own discussion thread is a textbook example of out of touch gatekeeping. We won't 'get used to it', we'll just find an alternative.
