How do I branch?

@jaseeverett I think we should add some tips on branching in git.

How do we switch away from the master branch?
How do we do it on github, in Rstudio, etc?
What actually happens when I make branches or switch between branches?

I feel branches in Git are unintuitive. If you don't already know about them, you won't be able to guess how they work.

I had some pictures of where to click to change branches, but github is giving me an error. I'll email them if you want them.

I agree. Can you write a quick blurb and send the pictures. Happy if its not in rmd. I can convert. I can add it to the GitHub book and upload. J
