Python 3.13 compatibility

This line raises an exception in 3.13 (distutils was removed). Not sure if there is anything else.

Hi @alaniwi, thanks for reporting this. I am sorry for the late reply, due to my being on leave for the month of May and having just seen this now.

I'll shortly investigate how to fix/workaround the distutils removal in the packaging so we can support 3.13.
