having some way to measure how long it takes to boot, and which scripts take the longest, would be useful

In the case of rc_parallel the one taking the longest time might not be the actual bottleneck. E.g if you have one service that takes 1 second. And five others taking 0.5s each. The 1s service might be getting parallelized with other services, but the group of 5 could be forming a dependency chain and thus taking 2.5s in total to complete.

I'm not nacking the idea of collecting boot analytics though (it'd be somewhat useful). Just pointing it out.
