ArrayStoreException thrown when web project is created

Steps to reproduce:
Case A:

1. Try to create a Web or EJB project with default options. Adding the project to an EAR.

Case B:
Associate an EAR 7 project and Dynamic Web Module 3.1 using the Deployment Assembly.

Project is created but error console shows java.lang.ArrayStoreException.

Using Eclipse JEE 4.40 the stack trace

A workaround: create an application.xml, deployment descriptor stub. Then associate the modules using the Deployment Assembly
