When a connection/disconnection happens, just re-fetch the existing inputs and outputs

Instead of keeping track of the contents of connect/disconnect events, just fetch the latest and do a diff of what you have afterwards. Also, gather test data of events that occur in certain scenarios, so you can write automated tests.
