Mailing lists are down

GMANE mailing lists are down causing "codeface smart" to fail... we are expecting it to be fixed soon, although the GMANE project is radio silent since 2016. Can we use some alternative for mailing lists?

I'm aware that GMANE is radio silent since 2016 but its nntp endpoint is still active.
I have no idea at all for possible GMANE alternatives and, in addition to that, I cannot foreseen the consequences of a change like that in the way that codeface process and build the communication network starting from emails
