When using a (horizontally) thin window, Threads open in an overlay window rather than splitting the entire view, and this window doesn't animate at all. I'm not sure if this requires a new category of animation or if it can inherit the sidebar animations. I discovered this because I use a vertical 1080p display as a secondary for Discord, and this is thin enough to cause this.
