[Feature]: Option to have app launch detection for selected apps in 'Shut-Up!' #881

Description

@sirlan-ff00ff

Problem Statement

There are certain contexts when you can't use the home screen shortcut created by essentials to open the app (lock screen shortcuts, tiles shortcuts, app opened from a link, etc), and in those cases a (best effort) attempt to auto trigger the settings toggle would be nice

Proposed Solution

In the list of selected apps in the Shut-Up! page, have a switch for each app for having essentials try to detect their launch and apply the settings. This wouldn't be the default

Alternatives Considered

Have preset options in the DIY automations in the 'System' category for the settings toggled by 'Shut-Up!', without having to manually record toggling each one

Priority

Low - Nice to have

Contribution

  • I would be willing to implement this feature

Additional Context

I know this probably wouldn't work well with all apps, as some may have specific weird launches for detection, or situations where essentials can't detect launches

Still would be nice to have this as a 'best effort' type of feature, as it can work with some apps, at least from what I tested

For example manually created an automation that triggers when Samsung Wallet and Gov.br are opened, setting development_settings_enabled to 0 and back to 1 as the out action, and at least from using it for a while, it works mostly⁽¹⁾ fine, both when normally launching them, from the lock screen, or from links

(1) Gov.br will some times at first complain about dev mode, but it has a 'try again' button, and after pressing it will let me in; Wallet has less of an issue as the app already opens normally when dev mode is on, and seems to only check for dev mode when trying to pay
