Freezes pip install in locked down network with local pypi mirror

Hi,

I think the setup.py does queries to the internet as part of the installation. I was not able to install this in a locked down instrument network with local pypi mirror at PSI.

I am not 100% sure, but like 100 other packages installs fine. So it might be interesting to figure out why gr freezes.

yes, you are right, setup.py tries to load the GR C runtime and if that fails, it tries to download it from our mirrors. So you should be able to run an offline installation if the GR runtime is made available before setup.py is run.

These are the relevant search directories in setup.py:

So, you can either place the runtime in one of those directories or set the GRLIB environment variable to point to the runtime lib directory.
