@javix thanks for bringing this to our attention.

Unfortunately, I don't have a means of testing on Windows.

There is an outstanding PR (#291) to test against Windows using the AppVeyor CI service.

If you have Windows savvy (which I'm seriously lacking in), we would really appreciate some help getting that PR running and green.

Without that PR, we don't have a means of reliably testing Windows-base fixes. :(

Closing this issue as the code path in the stack trace no longer exists.

The ArgumentError was raised by strip_heredoc in EmberCli::Runner#run!, which processed the shell output as a Ruby string. 8c6a208 ("Modify Runner to use Open3.capture3", 2016-03) rewrote Runner, and the current implementation streams the child process output line by line without calling strip_heredoc.

If a non-UTF-8 shell output still breaks the gem on Windows in a different place, please open a new issue with the current stack trace.
