When expecting a transactions, users are accustomed to seeing a notification or confirmation of entry to a server mempool, either their own node or a hosted solution. While a light client cannot attest to the validity of an unconfirmed transaction, if a user is dealing with a trusted counterparty, it could be within the user trust model to assume an unconfirmed transaction is valid. This adds a subscribe/unsubscribe API to transaction gossip, so developers may optionally send notifications to users.
