Issue
Enabling "Enterprise-grade edge" (Azure Front Door integration) on our
production Static Web App has been stuck for 48+ hours.
Timeline (from Activity Log):
-
Multiple enable attempts between 2026-09-02 and 2026-09-03 failed with
HTTP 400:
Cannot enable enterprise grade CDN on static web app ProdPortaalPD
because the disablement operation of an enterprise grade CDN is in
progress for this site. (extendedCode: 59355)
-
No disablement was ever intentionally triggered by us — this appears
to be a stuck/phantom operation on the platform side.
-
Since then, multiple team members have repeatedly clicked "Enable"
in the Azure Portal over the past 48+ hours (last attempt observed
2026-09-08, ~09:30 UTC via az staticwebapp enterprise-edge enable),
each still returning {"enterpriseGradeCdnStatus": "Enabling"}
without ever progressing to "Enabled". We suspect repeated concurrent
enable attempts from multiple users may be compounding the stuck
state rather than helping — we've now stopped retrying and are
waiting for platform-side guidance.
-
We saw the exact same symptom (stuck provisioning, no forward
progress) on our acceptance environment (TestPortaalTotaal) about a
week earlier — that one self-resolved after roughly 2 days with no
action from our side, but we don't understand the root cause and
can't force-clear it.
Repro
az staticwebapp enterprise-edge enable --name ProdPortaalPD --resource-group ProductiePortaalBZK
Returns success but status never leaves "Enabling".
Ask
- Is there a way to force-clear a stuck enable/disable operation for
Enterprise-grade edge from our side?
- Is this a known platform issue? We don't have a support plan that
allows opening a technical support ticket, so filing here as the
next-best channel.
Any pointers appreciated — this is blocking a production environment.
