Datadog Partner Network Repository

This repo is a collection of resources for authorized members of the Datadog Partner Network, and is intended to help partners show and deliver the value of the Datadog platform.

In this repo, you will find things like:

• Sandbox applications you can easily deploy to show how to monitor modern environments and services
• Partner-led workshop curricula and guides
• Sample monitors that demonstrate best-practices or are useful for specific integrations and use-cases
• Automation scripts and tooling that a partner would frequently find useful

Please consider contributing to this repo, since it'll get much more useful with the input of our partners!

Pulling just what you need

This repo holds a lot of sample apps and workshop content — you usually only need one. Use a sparse checkout so you only download the files for the app(s) you actually want:

git clone --filter=blob:none --sparse https://github.com/DataDog/dpn.git
cd dpn
git sparse-checkout set sandbox-apps/swagbot

This fetches all commit/tree metadata but skips downloading file contents up front, then materializes just sandbox-apps/swagbot/ (plus the top-level repo files) into your working tree — full git history and remote tracking stay intact.

Need more than one thing, or something outside sandbox-apps/? Add any path any time:

Sandbox Applications

In this repo

Clone or sparse-checkout this repo to get these:

1. Swagbot Chatbot - A containerized chatbot app fully instrumented with Datadog LLM Observability and APM.
2. Swagstore - Datadog's fork of Google's Online Boutique multi-language microservices demo, instrumented for Datadog APM/infra/logs.
3. Swagstore (AWS variant) - Same demo as above, packaged for AWS EC2/EKS deployment specifically.

In their own repo

These already have a dedicated public Datadog repo — go there directly instead of cloning this one:

1. Bank of Anthos - Retail banking sample app (Kubernetes/GKE), instrumented with the Datadog Operator for APM/RUM.
2. Storedog - eCommerce demo app used in observability and code-security workshops.
3. TSRE Microservices - Swagstore-based 12-microservice demo used for TSRE-led workshops.

Partner Workshops

1. DPN Implementation Training (partner-workshops/datadog-sample-finance/docs/README.md) - 9-module hands-on curriculum (the Meridian Financial curriculum), built around a full sample app in partner-workshops/datadog-sample-finance (Python/FastAPI, Java/Spring Boot, Node.js, Go; pre-wired for APM, Logs, Metrics, Profiler, DBM, DSM, and Data Jobs). Covers Unified Service Tagging, DBM, APM/DSM/DJM, RUM, Security, dashboards/monitors, and an AWS/EKS deployment track. Includes a printable attendee booklet.
2. LLM Observability Workshop (partner-workshops/llm-observability-workshop.md) - Guide for a partner-led LLM Observability enablement session.

Most workshops here are a single guide (like #2 above). If yours ships with a full runnable app and curriculum (like #1), give it its own partner-workshops/<name>/ directory rather than a single file — that's the pattern to follow for future contributions like this.

Monitors

The monitors folder holds sample monitor definitions that demonstrate best practices for specific integrations — right now, a vSphere host-down composite monitor.

Automation Tooling

The scripts folder holds automation a partner would frequently find useful: a Datadog dashboard/monitor backup utility, and a guide for building a Windows secrets-fetcher for Azure KeyVault. (There's no AWS Secrets Manager equivalent right now — an earlier one existed but was removed as unmaintained; contributions welcome.)
