Motivation behind the requirement of Laravel 6.x?#7

Currently, this package requires version 6.0 or greater of the Laravel framework.

Is there a reasoning behind this hard requirement? I can't see why this shouldn't be able to be used with Laravel 5.7 or 5.8.
