Or just MessATroll.
I like building things, messing around with ideas, and seeing what happens when I actually turn them into something real.
I'm not a traditional software engineer. My background is in business and technology, and I'm learning a lot of the building side as I go.
Some things will work. Some probably won't.
That's half the fun.
The Wall started with a pretty simple question:
What if you could just borrow a wall?
A wall for your friends.
A wall for your school.
A wall for a wedding or an event.
A wall for a neighbourhood or community.
Or a wall for a company where people can finally say what they actually think.
The idea is simple: create an anonymous space, invite your people, and let them leave their thoughts without needing a profile or putting their name next to everything they say.
A wall could live for an afternoon, a week, a semester, or years.
Public or private. Temporary or permanent. Yours to borrow.
I'm building the first version now and figuring out the rest as I go.
Building small things.
Product and UX.
AI-assisted development.
Online communities.
Anonymous communication.
Open source.
Trying ideas that probably shouldn't work.
And, increasingly, figuring out how to get people to actually use the things I build.
I'm going to use this space to document the journey.
Not just the polished stuff.
The bugs.
The bad decisions.
The things I thought would take two days that took two weeks.
The ideas that sounded great until someone actually used them.
And hopefully, the things that work.
** The Wall** An anonymous platform built around the idea that anyone should be able to borrow a wall and create a space for their own people.
More experiments will end up here as I build them.
I'm Francis, based in Nairobi, Kenya.
I spend my day in the business and technology world and my spare time increasingly asking myself:
"Could I build that?"
MessATroll is where I find out.
If you're building something interesting, have an idea worth trying, or just want to say hello, feel free to reach out.
