Device's Fastboot mode won't get recognized (Gentoo Linux, Redmi 10A)

I've been trying to use this tool for weeks now. I did manage to log into my account, I did manage to enable developer mode and USB debugging, I did add my account and device to unlock it, but, no matter what I do, all I'll get is being stuck at that < waiting for any device > part.

The cable isn't defective as I can use my phone with adb just fine, and it works on all my USB ports. fastboot just refuses to recognize the device whatsoever, even after booting my phone into Fastboot mode, entering fastboot devices won't show ANYTHING whatsoever.

I'm using the latest version, installed from the pip method shown in the guide. Changing the server at launch doesn't have any effect.

using adb does show my phone and i can use it just fine without any extra drivers, there aren't any links for any drivers here nor anywhere else for linux so i'm assuming linux's stock driver is supposed to work

well you need to install a different but sadly i dont have a link for that
