Dev Engineer Review

This change adds target-specific SM_103 paths for NVFP4 sparse attention, GEMV, hyper-connections, MoE, GDN, speculative verification, and rollback. It also changes shared QSA mapping, Mamba replay, speculative decoding, grouped GEMM, and executor behavior.

The broad shared-code scope creates regression risk. Verify dispatch conditions and fallbacks, tensor layouts and dtypes, CUDA graph replay, synchronization, and state updates. Reviewers should also check numerical behavior and speculative-state correctness in the new kernels. Current review-finding counts are unavailable.

QA Engineer Review

The change adds and modifies tests for target attention, GEMM, HC, MoE, normalization, PLE, SSM, and shared QSA, Mamba, and speculative-decoding behavior. The only confirmed test-list additions are test_fused_strict_accept.py, test_draft_loop_ops.py, and test_greedy_argmax.py in tests/integration/test_lists/test-db/l0_b200.yml. The supplied evidence does not confirm that the target-specific tests are listed in CI or manual-QA lists. No test removals or waivers are identified.

The PR objectives report GB300 test results and pre-commit passing. Those results are author-reported and are not independently established for the current revision. Coverage verdict: needs follow-up, to confirm target-test CI selection and current-revision results.

Description

GB300 performance work on the qwen3_8_flash_next_nvfp4__sm_103__tp1 modeling_v2 target (Qwen3.8-Flash-Next NVFP4, added in #20143 / #20276). It covers the whole Pareto curve at ISL 8192 / OSL 1024 on one GB300 (TP1), with NVFP4 KV cache and bf16 SSM state, for STP and MTP3. Most changes are target-local ops and kernels (CuTe DSL, Triton, CUDA). A few changes touch shared code; they are listed below.

Results

Measured on 1× GB300 at ISL 8K / OSL 1K. Columns are concurrency. con1 is tok/s/user; the other columns are tok/s/GPU.

curve con1 con2 con4 con8 con16 con32 con64 con128 con256
STP 445 697 1,156 1,733 2,417 3,378 4,580 6,037 7,448
MTP3 857 1,305 1,875 2,751 4,551 5,552 7,132 8,675 10,148

How these were measured:

  • The table is the full sweep on the pre-rebase branch.
  • The MTP3 rows use a forced acceptance of 3.3 tokens/step. Accuracy and real acceptance are measured separately (see Test Coverage).
  • Opt-in configuration used:
    • STP and MTP3: TRTLLM_MODELING_V2_DENSE_FP8=1, TRTLLM_MODELING_V2_GDN_INPROJ_NVFP4=1, TLLM_WORKER_USE_MP_PROCESS=1, the breakable prefill graph with prefill capture buckets up to 16K tokens.
    • STP adds TRTLLM_MODELING_V2_MOE_GEMV=1.
    • MTP3 adds TRTLLM_MODELING_V2_MTP_MOE_NVFP4=1 and TRTLLM_MODELING_V2_MTP_HEAD_NVFP4=1.

Key points versus the starting point (NVFP4 KV + bf16 state, before this work), and after rebasing onto this main:

key point STP before → after MTP3 before → after rebased on main (STP / MTP3)
con1 tok/s/user 349 → 451 (+29%) 425 → 857 (+102%) 451 / 857
con32 tok/s/GPU 2,907 → 3,378 (+16%) 3,570 → 5,552 (+56%) 3,311 / 5,417
con256 tok/s/GPU 5,986 → 7,448 (+24%) 4,957 → 10,148 (+105%) 7,351 / 10,164

The rebased branch was A/B-tested on one node against the pre-rebase branch:

  • STP: within noise.
  • MTP3: +0.6% at con1, +3.5% at con32 and +1.8% at con256.

What changes

Decode at small batch

  • Hyper-connection site kernels:
    • Faster 1-row sites, with no weight-load hold by default.
    • 2..16-row sites on a tensor-core launch pair, with the MoE finalize folded in.
    • tc_first extended up to 256 rows.
  • FP8 W8A16 GEMVs (fp8_gemv):
    • Used for dense projections under dense FP8, the vocab head, and the 1-row output and shared-expert projections.
    • Row ranges retuned.
  • GDN:
    • The in_proj GEMV with a fused conv1d epilogue, for 2..16 verify rows and up to 8 decode rows.
    • Decode rows with TMA state staging, and a copy-free cached replay.
    • Opt-in NVFP4 in_proj for up to 8 rows.
  • NVFP4 sparse GQA decode:
    • A CuTe split-K + merge kernel, with a lean one-split variant.
    • A fused decode prologue over NVFP4 KV that also covers verify steps.
  • MoE:
    • Opt-in tcgen05 small-row NVFP4 MoE (nvfp4_moe_gemv).
    • Pinned trtllm-gen tactics for the decode buckets, which removes start-to-start variance from tactic selection.

MTP

  • Draft step:
    • Runs on the trunk's fused machinery, carries only the draft loop's rows, and computes the sparse query side for the kept rows only.
    • FP8 lm_head copy for the draft head; opt-in NVFP4 draft head and NVFP4 draft-layer experts.
  • Verify:
    • Request-grouped NVFP4 sparse GQA with a coalesced gated epilogue, a split last wave and a per-row merge.
    • Every reachable launch plan is compiled up front.
    • Request-tiled index scores.
    • GDN cached-replay verify on a CuTe tensor-core kernel.
  • Rollback and PLE: batched rollback of the QSA index planes; fused PLE on verify and mixed steps.
  • Bookkeeping:
    • Speculative bookkeeping fused inside captured decode steps (fused strict acceptance, draft-loop row selection, bf16 greedy argmax), with fewer launches overall.
    • A steady-state verify prepare_inputs fast path.

Prefill / mixed steps

  • MoE and dense projections:
    • Faster prefill CuteDSL MoE.
    • Opt-in per-tensor FP8 dense projections, with the activation amax folded into its producers.
    • tcgen05 dense projections for 17..256 rows (mid_rows_mm).
  • HC and GDN:
    • HC sites without a stored normed stream.
    • A leaner GDN prefill block.
  • Sparse attention row-tile pass: a persistent pass, a CuTe plan kernel, and no per-step Triton recompiles.
  • PLE table: kept in host memory on the GPU's NUMA node.

Shared code outside the target directory

  • tensorrt_llm/_torch/speculative/:
    • fused_accept.py, draft_loop_ops.py and greedy_argmax.py (Triton) are new.
    • eagle3.py uses them in captured, generation-only MTP steps; other steps keep the composed ops.
    • interface.py caches the sampling-parameter normalization and stages the RNG uploads in one pinned tensor.
  • pyexecutor/engine/runners/decoder/inputs.py:
    • A steady-state verify prepare fast path for unchanged verify-only batches.
    • Fast and full prepare were compared on every step over 2,400 steps.
  • attention/backends/sparse/qsa/: the decode row mapping is one Triton launch when the batch has no context rows.
  • modules/mamba/mamba2_metadata.py: single-launch replay work items for up to 256 decodes.
  • kv_cache/mamba_cache_manager.py: on CUDA-graph replay steps, update_mamba_states promotes the conv window and advances the replay counters in one launch.
  • moe/kernels/blackwell/blockscaled_contiguous_grouped_gemm_finalize_fusion.py: prefill MoE epilogue tuning.
  • executor/executor.py, executor/utils.py:
    • Opt-in TLLM_WORKER_USE_MP_PROCESS=1 runs a TP1 worker in a spawned Python process without MPI, for containers that forbid MPI_Comm_spawn.
    • Without it, the executor shares the GIL with the HTTP frontend.

Rebase notes

Test Coverage

  • Unit tests:
    • Target kernel tests (tests/unittest/_torch/modeling_v2/models/qwen4_exp/qwen3_8_flash_next_nvfp4__sm_103__tp1/): 739 passed, 4 skipped on GB300 (this branch, native build of this main). Each new op ships a CELLS-driven test; the claims gate passes.
    • Shared-code tests:
      • Files: attention/sparse/qsa/test_qsa_sparse.py, modules/mamba/test_mamba2_metadata.py, executor/kv_cache/test_mamba_cache_manager.py, and the new speculative/test_fused_strict_accept.py, speculative/test_draft_loop_ops.py and speculative/test_greedy_argmax.py.
      • Result: all pass on GB300.
      • The three new speculative tests are added to l0_b200.yml.
    • CPU claims tests (test_modeling_v2_claims.py, test_modeling_v2_no_stale_claims.py, test_modeling_v2_qwen4_exp_thop_attention_calls.py): 21 passed.
  • Accuracy:
    • gsm8k on this branch: STP 96.32, MTP3 (real acceptance) 96.40.
    • Anchor 96.36; floor 95.33 (anchor − 2 SE).
  • Real MTP3 acceptance (gsm8k / pass-key):
    • Checked for every draft-side change during development: before 3.547 / 3.57, after 3.545–3.558 / 3.33–3.38.
    • On this branch: 3.557 / 3.312, with pass-key 100% correct.
  • pre-commit: passes on every changed file.

PR Checklist

  • PR description clearly explains what and why.
  • PR follows the TRT-LLM coding guidelines to the best of my knowledge.
  • Test cases are provided for new code paths.
  • No API changes. The new opt-in switches are environment variables, read by the target or by the executor (TLLM_WORKER_USE_MP_PROCESS).

PR effort13 points — Performance refactor of existing QSA/Gated DeltaNet execution. Quantized sparse attention, tensor-core recurrent replay and speculative rollback together warrant broad kernel-level reasoning and provisionally support 13 attention-review points, independently of unrelated GEMM/HC volume.
ImportanceImportant — Visible module descriptions specify new NVFP4 split-K attention and request-grouped verification kernels, plus GDN replay with bf16 rounding and checkpoint commits. These introduce sensitive numerical, synchronization and speculative-state correctness contracts.

Test abort while work is running.

The supplied change does not identify a test for the new hard-stop path. Add an executor-session unit test that starts a worker, calls abort(), and checks that the worker stops and its future settles without an unbounded wait. Include escalation after shutdown(wait=False) to catch the lifecycle failure above. As per path instructions, “Review TensorRT-LLM production-code changes for meaningful test coverage in addition to normal code review.”

Test nonblocking shutdown with an active worker.

The supplied change does not identify a test for shutdown(wait=False). Add an executor-session unit test with a blocked task. Assert that shutdown returns before the task completes and that the task can subsequently finish. This catches an accidental return to waiting shutdown. As per path instructions, “Review TensorRT-LLM production-code changes for meaningful test coverage in addition to normal code review.”

Add an executor-session unit test for shutdown(wait=False) using a blocked task:
assert shutdown returns before the task completes, then release the task and
verify it can finish. Anchor the test to the executor session’s shutdown
behavior and avoid changing the shutdown implementation.

tensorrt_llm/_torch/pyexecutor/kv_cache/mamba_cache_manager.py: 1

4965-4965: Trivial · Maintainability & Code Quality · Heavy lift

Capture and replay the folded V2 path.

The new test only toggles is_cuda_graph and runs one update on a fresh manager for each case. It does not capture a CUDA graph or replay it with changed accepted counts. Add a CUDA-gated capture-and-replay case in tests/unittest/_torch/executor/kv_cache/test_mamba_cache_manager.py. Check convolution state, prev_num_accepted_tokens, and cache_buf_idx after each replay. This can catch capture-only failures and stale replay bookkeeping.

tensorrt_llm/_torch/pyexecutor/engine/runners/decoder/inputs.py: 1

1068-1094: Trivial · Functional Correctness · Heavy lift

Add a regression test for the steady-state speculative verify fast path.

This change adds _record_steady_spec_cache, _can_use_steady_spec_fast_prepare and _apply_steady_spec_fast_prepare. The fast path rebuilds the inputs and metadata of a full pass from cached state. None of the listed tests exercises this path. A missed field can silently diverge from the full pass, for example:

  • previous_kv_lens_offsets
  • num_extra_kv_tokens
  • use_full_generation_page_table
  • spec_metadata.request_ids
  • the one-hot placeholder rows

The result would be wrong positions or KV lengths in graph replay.

Suggested minimal test, under tests/unittest/_torch/executor/:

  1. Use a DecoderInputPreparer with a linear-tree one-model spec config and the overlap scheduler enabled.
  2. Run two consecutive verify-only steps with the same requests and slots. The first step records the cache; the second step takes the fast path.
  3. Run the second step again with _steady_spec_cache = None to force the full pass.
  4. Compare input_ids_cuda, position_ids_cuda, draft_tokens_cuda, previous_pos_id_offsets_cuda, previous_kv_lens_offsets_cuda, kv_cache_params and spec_metadata.seq_lens between the two runs.
  5. Add a negative case: a changed slot, a changed verify width, or a request with py_needs_onehot_draft_probs must fall back to the full pass.

As per path instructions: "For each new or materially changed observable behavior, determine whether this PR adds, updates, or clearly identifies an existing test that meaningfully exercises the change."

Apply ruff-format to this block; the pre-commit check fails on it.

The Release Checks / Pre-commit Check job reports that ruff-format reformatted this file at lines 791-792, so the hook fails.

  • host_position_ids = torch.tensor(...) (Line 794-796) fits on one 100-column line, and the formatter collapses it.
  • Run pre-commit run ruff-format --files tensorrt_llm/_torch/pyexecutor/engine/runners/decoder/inputs.py.

Gate the module on SM 10.3, not only on CUDA availability.

The module-level check at line 26 only tests for CUDA. The grouped path requires SM 10.3, and tests that assert or call that path can fail on other CUDA devices instead of skipping. _plan checks torch.cuda.get_device_capability(q.device) != (10, 3) before it returns a grouped plan. test_certified_cells asserts _takes_grouped(args), and test_other_rows_a_request_and_forced_splits calls nvfp4_sparse_gqa_verify_grouped directly. Neither path has an architecture gate.

Add a module-level skip after the existing CUDA assertion:

Minor · Functional Correctness · Quick win

The small restore cell does not force a mixed rejected and kept set.

The cell description says "two rejected". The test draws rejected with torch.rand(...) < 0.5. With 4 rows, the count can be 0, 1, 3 or 4. A cell with zero rejected rows never exercises the restore. A cell with all rows rejected never checks the "not rejected rows are untouched" invariant. The seeded draw is deterministic today, but it can change if the generator call order changes. The cell name then no longer matches the test.

Build rejected deterministically from the cell. For example, reject exactly half the rows. For rows=512, a random mask is fine.

[P1] This breaks the GLM-5.2 modeling_v2 target's MTP path.

eagle3.py:648 now always passes fused= to _prepare_next_new_tokens. But MTPDraftWorker in glm_moe_dsa/glm_5_2_nvfp4__sm_107__tp16/modeling.py:1587 overrides that method with the old 5-argument signature. That target is already on main via #20517, and it inherits _forward_impl through MTPEagleWorker.

As a result, GLM-5.2 NVFP4 on SM107 TP16 with MTP-Eagle raises TypeError: _prepare_next_new_tokens() got an unexpected keyword argument 'fused' on the first step, during warmup. By then auto has already selected the target, so there is no fallback. Pre-merge CI doesn't run this configuration.

Fix: make the override accept fused: bool = False and forward it to super()._prepare_next_new_tokens(..., fused=fused). No other override of this method exists in the repo.

…ow ranges and the vocab-head threshold

A row-count sweep of this checkpoint's decode projections on GB300 moved each
kind's fp8_gemv range to its measured crossover: input projections to 24 rows
(11.0 vs 12.8 us per-tensor FP8), output projections to 16 (6.4 vs 8.4 us
bf16), the shared gate|up down to 16 (bf16 is faster from 20 rows); the down
projection stays at 8. The vocabulary projection takes fp8_gemv up to 16 rows
instead of 32 (142-172 us at 20-32 rows against ~108 for cuBLASLt on the
per-row-scaled copy). The fused verify conv keeps its certified 16 rows.

…ass for prefill sparse attention

The row-tile pass launched one CTA per (group, KV head) item, about 3300 at
16K rows, and a third of each CTA was fixed cost (Q load, epilogue) with
nothing overlapping it; early CTAs also parked their SM waiting for the lone
kernel. One CTA per SM now takes items longest first from a ticket counter
(the second slot of the zeroed lone-count buffer), stages the next item's Q
during the current item's last tiles and stores through TMA. Same per-tile
math, bitwise output; on real 16K-row prefill inputs 796 -> 681 us a layer,
437 -> 346 us at 8K rows (one fresh request).

…he prefill up_gate_mean_rstd mixer

The prefill hyper-connection mixer was latency-bound (tensor pipe 49%, DRAM
58%), its largest single cost the uncoalesced 16-byte stores of mixed. One
32-byte store per thread, two 8-warp epilogue groups on alternate tiles with
packed f32x2 math, four accumulator stages released before the math and
deeper hc_out / weight rings: 7-12% faster a call at 4K-16K rows for both the
bf16 and NVFP4 variants. Outputs follow the documented fp32 sequence exactly
(the previous kernel deviated by one bf16 ulp on ~0.003% of elements); same
test bands.

…s and copy-free cached replay

gdn_decode_rows_gated_norm (the one-token recurrence fused with the gated
norm): over a bf16 pool from 7 rows up, each warp's 16 state rows arrive by
one TMA bulk copy as soon as the slot is known, halving registers so 3-4 CTAs
fit an SM; 9-22% faster from 8 rows (32 rows 21.7 -> 17.9 us, 256 rows
152 -> 119 us a layer), bitwise. gdn_cached_replay_cute: small-batch launch
settings (state tiles by bulk copy after the slot load, state dot products
before the first barrier) and work items accepted with the in-kernel commit.
The decode target now hands it a and b as column views instead of copies,
passes the work items the metadata builds, and launches it with PDL after the
fused in_proj GEMV + conv: 6.3 -> 2.8 us a layer at one request, 21 -> 16 us
at 32, bitwise.

…the prefill row-tile pass

The row-tile plan (union of a group's selections, per-row bitmaps re-indexed
onto it) ran as a Triton kernel behind a 21 MB memset of the packed bitmaps.
A CuTe kernel with one warp a group and one lane a 64-token word computes the
six compress masks once a word for the group's rows, ORs packed words in
shared memory and stages the slots for one coalesced store; the bitmaps are
no longer zeroed first. 62 -> 36 us a layer at 16K rows (28 at 8K), bitwise;
the Triton plan stays for int64 request indices and geometries it does not
tile.

TRTLLM_MODELING_V2_MTP_HEAD_NVFP4=1 builds an NVFP4 copy of lm_head (e2m1,
16-element e4m3 block scales, an fp32 global scale; 341 MiB) at load and runs
the MTP draft head's decode rows (up to 16) on nvfp4_gemv, a new CuTe GEMV
that widens e2m1 with cvt.rn.f16x2.e2m1x2, scales in f16 (exact), multiplies
on f16 mma.sync with fp32 accumulation and streams its weights through a TMA
ring before the PDL wait: 54-56 us a call at 1-4 rows against 87-89 us for
fp8_gemv. The verify head is untouched, so outputs are unchanged; real
acceptance length is unchanged within noise (gsm8k -0.03%, pass-key +0.2%).

…n prologue over NVFP4 KV

The one-launch decode attention prologue (norm + rope of both planes, the K/V
append, the index plane's raw-key store and group compression) now covers
NVFP4 KV pools: the k-head programs quantize their rotated rows from
registers with the store kernel's arithmetic, and v gets one program per
head. Verify (MTP) steps use it too: at a group's last token the earlier
members written by the same launch are read from their projection rows. The
index scores fold into the prologue at 1-2 decode rows, and the top-k expand
ranks candidates on 4 lanes each with its row metadata read before the PDL
wait. Bitwise against the composed path (pool bytes, selections).

Micro (12 layers, ~8K tokens, us a layer): 1 row 17.8 -> 13.7, 4 rows
22.6 -> 17.1, verify 1x4 21.2 -> 17.1. Serving: STP con1 +3.7%, MTP3 con1
+1.8%, con32 +0.6%.

…4 MoE on tcgen05

TRTLLM_MODELING_V2_MOE_GEMV=1 runs the decode step's routed experts at 1-4
rows (when the finalize folds into the next hyper-connection site) as two PDL
launches of nvfp4_moe_gemv instead of trtllm-gen's routing + FC1 + FC2: the
FC1 launch computes the Renormalize top-10 itself, accumulates a whole
128-row FC1 tile in TMEM on the mxf4nvf4 block-scaled MMA and finishes SwiGLU
and the NVFP4 requantization in one warp; the FC2 launch streams its tiles
before its wait and writes the slot rows the fold gathers. Bitwise equal to
the runner (real layers 0/23/47 at 1/4/8 rows). post_load_weights registers
the expert stacks and precompiles. 48-layer chain: 14.4 -> 12.6 us a layer at
1 row, 23.4 -> 22.7 at 4. Off by default.

Three bitwise changes around the chunked gated-delta kernel of a prefill
step: the gated RMS norm + amax runs 64 rows a program on 8 warps
(126 -> 113 us a layer at 16K rows); the chunk op takes has_initial_state
and its state gather writes zeros for a fresh sequence, so the separate
reset_recurrent_state_rows launch goes (the conv pass ignores the carried
window and the scatter writes every named slot); the gates kernel stores
exp(g) directly and runs 8 tokens a program (6.5 -> 4.3 us, one launch
fewer). About -25 us a GDN layer, -0.9 ms a 16K mixed step.

…index scores

On MTP verify steps the QSA index scores run on qsa_paged_index_scores_verify:
one Triton program gathers a tile of a request's compressed index keys once
and scores all of the request's verify rows (up to 4) against it, with the
row-wise kernel's tile plan and dot shapes, so the scores are bitwise the
row-wise entry's. 12-layer chain, us a layer: 128 rows 11.5 -> 7.6, 1024
rows 55.0 -> 30.4 (key-byte floor ~26).

…wer eager decode ops

Host-side work of a generation-only MTP decode step:
- DecoderInputPreparer: when a verify-only batch has the same requests,
  slots, graph key and verify width as the last full pass, skip the Python
  packing: one index_select per device gather and one pinned upload, then
  the attention / spec metadata prepare() as before.
- QSA sparse metadata: the decode row mapping for batches without context
  rows (up to 256 requests) in one Triton launch instead of ~12 ATen ops,
  eager and in the CUDA graph.
- GDN replay work items on the single-launch Triton builder for every
  decode count up to 256 (one compile for all batch sizes).
- The spec metadata stages its RNG uploads in one pinned tensor and caches
  the sampling-parameter normalization.

Exact: fast vs full prepare compared every step over 2400 steps (con1/con32,
real acceptance), every replaced component compared in the batched AL eval.
MTP3 con1 (Qwen3.8-Flash-Next, GB300): iteration 4.43 -> 3.88 ms under nsys,

TLLM_WORKER_USE_MP_PROCESS=1 runs a TP1 executor worker in its own Python
process started by multiprocessing (spawn), through the existing
ProcessPoolExecutorSession path, for containers where MPI_Comm_spawn fails
and the worker would otherwise share the serving process (and its GIL) with
the HTTP frontend via TLLM_WORKER_USE_SINGLE_PROCESS=1. ProcessPoolExecutorSession
gains the abort() the MpiSession interface requires (it kills the worker
processes) and a shutdown(wait) signature.

hand-offs around KV cache calls).

…it kernel for one-split launches

Launches with one split (65 rows and up) run kernel_lean: each warp builds
its P.V operands straight from the raw NVFP4 V rows in registers instead of
writing and re-reading an f16 V tile, and the raw V rows are padded against
bank conflicts; q stays in registers. The old kernel was bound by shared
memory traffic (64% busy, about half of it the f16 V tile); the lean one
runs at 36%. Bitwise equal to the old kernel, gated and ungated. us a call
(12 chained): 128 rows 71.6 -> 66.6, 256 rows 137.5 -> 128.3.

…bf16_gemv_pdl at 2-4 rows

The decode step's bf16 projection entry sends the shared expert's
one-column gate logit to bf16_gemv_pdl up to its MAX_ROWS (4) rows, not
only at one row: low_m_bf16_mm ran it as a one-CTA FlashInfer GEMM of
~3 us a layer at 4 rows (MTP3 verify at concurrency 1).

… tactics for decode buckets

The AutoTuner tunes the trtllm-gen FP4 MoE once at warmup on one layer's
L2-warm weights with uniform routing, and its picks change from start to
start. Decode calls (1-2047 rows, outside tuning mode) now run a pinned
[tile_n, config] per bucket, chosen on a 48-layer HBM-cold chain with the
serving routing skew under CUDA graphs and PDL (the AutoTuner's picks cost
up to 2.3% of MoE time at 1-128 rows and 2-5% at 256-1024 rows). Both MoE op
entries share run_renorm_moe(); larger calls keep the AutoTuner. Every pinned
tactic is checked once against the build's valid tactics, and its output is
bitwise the AutoTuner path's.

…ws, router first, Triton greedy argmax

- qwen4_exp_hc_decode_tc_first takes its 128-row M tile from grid z, so the
  hyper-connection site's first half stays one tcgen05 launch up to 256 rows
  (48x8 tiles above 128 rows, one wave) instead of cuBLAS split-K + reduce +
  activation: 22.4 -> 17.8 us a site at 256 rows; within the op's float64 band.
- The decode MoE block launches the router projection before the shared
  expert's side-stream work from 8 rows up: the side stream's kernels no longer
  hold SMs the router waits for (router 9.3 -> 5.8 us at 256 rows). Bitwise.
- speculative: greedy sampling of 17+ rows uses a Triton row argmax
  (greedy_argmax) instead of torch.argmax, same tokens including ties and NaN:
  77 -> 48 us at 256 rows, 216 -> 155 us at 1024 rows (fp32 logits).

… up to 8 decode rows

Under the dense FP8 mode a captured single-token decode step runs the GDN conv
step as fp8_gemv_conv1d's epilogue up to 8 rows (was 2); from 3 rows the

bitwise; conv outputs match causal_conv1d_update up to a rare 1-ulp
difference. STP con4: +3.1% / +4.0% (two same-node pairs).

…roj for decode rows

TRTLLM_MODELING_V2_GDN_INPROJ_NVFP4=1 packs an NVFP4 copy of each GDN
in_proj (e2m1, 16-element e4m3 scales, fp32 global scale; +0.8 GiB) at
post_load_weights and runs decode steps of up to 8 rows on it: fp8_gemv's
kernel gains an NVFP4 mode (1152-byte units, e2m1 x e4m3 dequantized exactly
in f16, the global scale on the fp32 partials) that keeps its K split, TMA
ring, PDL and both conv epilogues (single-token and MTP verify). Every
variant is compiled at load. The fused conv results are bitwise the
projection followed by the conv ops.

…ed MTP decode steps

In graph-captured decode steps (eager and mixed steps keep the original ops):
- greedy argmax of 1-16 rows uses the Triton row argmax (64 chunks a row)
  instead of a memset + 31-block reduce + cast per call;
- strict and forced acceptance run as one Triton launch (fused_accept),
  every force mode launched once at warmup;
- the V2 mamba replay bookkeeping folds into the existing conv-promotion
  kernel, as the C++ manager already does;
- the Qwen3.8-Flash-Next target's speculative rollback staging and commit are
  one launch each (spec_rollback_commit), planes spread across programs.

Bitwise against the replaced ops (unit tests incl. graph replay; an in-graph
shadow check over ~143K serving comparisons). MTP3 concurrency 1 on GB300:
captured bookkeeping 121 nodes / 267 us -> 67 nodes / 122 us, iteration
3884.5 -> 3747.8 us, +2.6% tok/s/user over 6 same-node pairs; con32 neutral.

…ollback_commit

Drives spec_rollback_stage's cells against its reference and
spec_rollback_commit's cells against the documented per-request rewrite
(n-gram row, PLE conv row, position and index-K planes of rejected rows),
bitwise; the claims gate requires every entry with cells to have one.

…its when only a greedy argmax reads them

The target's widening logits processor returns the head's bf16 logits instead
of an fp32 copy when the speculative step only takes an argmax: the draft
when there is no guided decoder and no advanced draft sampling; the verify
also needs an all-greedy batch with penalties and relaxed acceptance off.
Every gate input is a deploy-time constant or part of the CUDA graph key,
and the one-model sampler refuses logits/logprobs requests, so nothing reads
an fp32 copy in those cases. The widening is exact, so the argmax picks the
same tokens (ties, signed zeros, -inf rows and NaN checked). greedy_argmax
gains a split table for bf16 rows. MTP3 at 256 requests on GB300: draft
sampling at 256 rows 105.9 -> 32.9 us, verify at 1024 rows 379.9 -> 128.3
us (~470 us an iteration); serving con256 +0.5-1.0% over three pairs.

…e steps

In captured generation-only MTP steps:
- the Qwen3.8-Flash-Next target's decode-step setup (pos3 copy, PLE
  cu_seqlens, the rollback's slot arithmetic and plane gather) is one
  launch (verify_step_setup); the rollback stages through
  SpeculativeRollback.begin_staged, and a dead PLE carry is dropped;
- the first draft step's row selection (gather ids, hidden rows, positions,
  kv/seq lens) is one launch (draft_loop_ops.draft_row_select), dropping two
  cats and a dead cumsum;
- the next step's tokens take 2 launches instead of 6 (next_new_tokens);
- the draft steps reuse the trunk's pos3 instead of copying it;
- the duplicate QSA mapping in captured preprocessing is removed.

Bitwise against the replaced ops (unit tests; in-graph shadow checks over
41,589 serving comparisons). MTP3 con1 on GB300: bookkeeping 63 nodes /
115.1 us -> 27 nodes / 53.6 us, iteration 3670.0 -> 3609.6 us; median ITL
lower in all 6 same-node pairs (tok/s/user mean +1.3%); con32 unchanged.

… plus review nits

- GLM-5.2 NVFP4 (sm107 tp16) MTPDraftWorker._prepare_next_new_tokens accepts
  the `fused` keyword the MTP-Eagle forward now passes and forwards it to the
  base implementation (it raised TypeError on the first MTP step).
- Steady-state verify prepare: ruff-format the position-id upload (pre-commit).
- test_eagle3: the draft-loop stub metadata carries is_cuda_graph, which the
  loop reads before its first draft forward.
- fused_accept: warm FORCE_NONE / FORCE_BASE with the int32 pointers
  strict_accept passes at run time, so no variant compiles during capture.
- ProcessPoolExecutorSession: keep worker handles across shutdown so abort
  after shutdown (or a repeated abort) still stops live workers.
- ple_ngram_embed: catalog note lists the certified 64 x 4-row verify cell.
