CatchAll is a web search API that generates unique datasets that don't exist anywhere else on the web. Built on NewsCatcher's proprietary real-world event index, it delivers state-of-the-art recall鈥攆inding all relevant events, not just top results.

<Update label="1.9.0" description="2026-09-18">
## Paused event monitor alerts and better watchlist recall

A quality release with no request or response changes. You now get an email
when an event monitor is paused for lack of credits. Watchlist-connected jobs
also match more articles, and validation no longer drops records on criteria it
never checked. Existing jobs and event monitors pick up these changes
automatically.

### Email alert when an event monitor is paused

When an account runs out of credits, scheduled event monitors are disabled
automatically. You now get an email when this happens, so a monitor doesn't stop
without you knowing. Emails are limited to one per day, so an account that runs
out of credits doesn't get a flood of notifications.

After adding credits, resume the monitor with
[`POST /catchAll/monitors/{monitor_id}/enable`](/web-search-api/api-reference/event-monitors/enable-monitor).
See
[Troubleshoot event monitors](/web-search-api/how-to/troubleshoot-event-monitors#event-monitor-stopped-running).

### Better recall for watchlist-connected jobs

Jobs submitted with `connected_dataset_ids` now match articles against the same
fields as the Search API. Before, some watchlist queries missed articles because
English word-stem matching was skipped. Source rank filters are now applied to
watchlist searches too, except when a source group filter is also set.

### Fixes and improvements

- Fewer records dropped during validation. Every validator criterion now gets an
explicit verdict. Before, a criterion that the model skipped counted as failed,
which could discard records on criteria that were never checked.
- Fixed model fallback during enrichment. When the primary model is unavailable,
enrichment now falls back to the backup model instead of failing.

## Event monitor stopped running

**Symptom**: Scheduled runs stop, and you receive an email saying the event
monitor was paused.

**Cause**: The account ran out of credits, so the event monitor was disabled
automatically. The notification email is sent at most once per day.

**Resolution**:

1. Add credits to your account or upgrade your plan.
2. Re-enable the event monitor with
[`POST /catchAll/monitors/{monitor_id}/enable`](/web-search-api/api-reference/event-monitors/enable-monitor).
See [Enable event monitor](/web-search-api/concepts/event-monitors#enable-event-monitor).
3. Check the [status history](/web-search-api/concepts/event-monitors#get-status-history)
to confirm the event monitor is active again.
