ApprovabilityVerdict: Approved at Macroscope's review found this PR approvable — This is a localized hotplug bug fix that reuses an existing read-only Razer probe to reject non-working Bridge siblings before they replace an active connection. Specialized Razer, WebHID, keyboard, and manual connection paths remain unchanged, with targeted regression tests added. Notes:

Summary
Keep a working Razer connection selected when a later Bridge hotplug event exposes a sibling interface that cannot answer configuration commands. On a Basilisk V3 Pro 35K, the existing behavior can close the working interface, select the failing sibling, and lose the battery/DPI readouts after a cable reconnect.
Generic Bridge Razer candidates now pass the protocol package's existing read-only firmware probe before replacing the active client. The probe runs in the activation queue; rejected or disconnected candidates are closed without replacing the working client.
Reproduction and hardware evidence
Tested on Windows 11 Pro (build 26300), Chrome 155.0.8059.85, OpenMouse Bridge 1.0.0-beta.16, and a Razer Basilisk V3 Pro 35K, wired

In the failing baseline trial, the working handle opened at 00:44:45.181 UTC and closed at 00:44:46.311. In the patched trial, it opened at 00:50:46.627 and stayed open while the failing candidate opened at 00:50:48.010 and closed at 00:50:48.151 (2026-10-22 UTC).
Validation and limits

This changes connect-event activation; startup reconnect and disconnect replacement selection are unchanged. Settings writes, other mice, Bluetooth, reboot behavior, actual sleep entry, and a battery discharge range were not verified. Readouts are device-reported values, not measurements of physical DPI or polling frequency. The generic sibling remains visible in the device list.
