paull-kernel(kernel the Snorkel-OS) 32‑bit x86 kernel from scratch
Protected mode, hardware interrupts, syscalls, rings 0/3, command line.

Build & Run

nasm -f bin boot.asm -o boot.bin
nasm -f bin kernel.asm -o kernel.bin

Features

• Protected mode (flat model, GDT, IDT)

• Keyboard IRQ1 with scancode → ASCII

• System calls int 0x80 (write, exit, getchar)

• Command line with backspace, Enter

• Magic sequences: hew → hello world, bye → goodbye cruel world, tu → Hello 231(tu)

• Ring 3 switch on F1 with syscall demo

• sudo reboot (password: admin)

• FAT32 driver (read‑only)

• Round‑robin multitasking

• Paging (identity mapping)
