Aiola — The Agentic Desktop App for Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Grok & OpenCode

Aiola is the local agentic desktop app for Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Grok CLI, and OpenCode — one multi-provider workspace with per-project execution and a portfolio-level command center for tasks, code review, error monitoring, feedback, automations, and analytics. Available for macOS (Apple Silicon and Intel) and Windows.

Aiola is a local agentic desktop app that runs Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Grok CLI, and OpenCode agents across all of your projects from one workspace. It is the agentic command center for tasks, AI PR review, app-log triage, feedback, scheduled automations, MCP servers, and analytics — with an auto-PR pipeline that turns completed tasks into pushed pull requests.

Aiola — manage Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Grok & OpenCode agents across all your projects

Installation requirement

Aiola does not bundle an LLM. To run agents, you must have at least one of these installed locally and authenticated with your own provider access:

  • Claude Code SDK / CLI — Anthropic's official Claude Code distribution
  • Codex SDK / CLI — OpenAI's official Codex distribution
  • Cursor (cursor-agent) — Cursor's official agent distribution, with Git cloning support
  • Grok CLI (grok) — xAI's coding agent. Install with curl -fsSL https://x.ai/cli/install.sh | bash, then sign in with grok agent --reauth
  • OpenCode (opencode) — the supported open-source, provider-agnostic coding agent. Install with curl -fsSL https://opencode.ai/install | bash, then sign in with opencode auth login

Aiola detects which providers are installed at startup, hides providers that aren't installed from the model picker, and auto-selects the provider when only one is available. Install at least one before launching the app.

What is Aiola?

Running multiple software projects with agentic tools — Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Grok CLI, and OpenCode — gets messy fast. The CLI is fine for one project; it falls over when you have eight.

Aiola is a local Electron + Next.js agentic desktop app designed for that exact workflow:

  • One workspace per project, plus a central command center that aggregates everything across workspaces
  • Agentic execution backed by Claude Code SDK, Codex SDK, Cursor (cursor-agent), Grok CLI (grok), and OpenCode (opencode) — pick a default, override per thread
  • Chat-driven dashboard wired to thread state, terminals, browser panels, diffs, and Git
  • Tasks with a real state machine and an auto-PR pipeline that pushes the branch and runs gh pr create
  • AI PR review and fix flows on incoming pull requests, with optional auto-comment back
  • App-log triage with live grouping, AI analyze, AI fix
  • Feedback capture and triage with customizable fields
  • Automations — scheduled agentic jobs across one or all workspaces
  • Notebook (Plan, Notes, Todo), Quick Note scratchpad, Canvas whiteboard, Skills library, Agents catalog, MCP server manager
  • Analytics, Calendar, Terminals — per-project and central
  • Per-project knowledge base (brief.md, rules.md, profile fields) the agents read from

Aiola is not a code editor. It is the agentic operations layer between your editor, your terminals, and your GitHub repos.

Own your data (local-first)

Your code and repos stay on your machine. Agent prompts and file context are sent only to the AI provider you choose — Anthropic (Claude Code), OpenAI (Codex), Cursor, xAI (Grok CLI), or whichever provider you configure in OpenCode — under your own subscription. Aiola never proxies, stores, or resells your code or model traffic. Threads, tasks, notes, and automations are stored locally (SQLite + plain files in your repo). If you use the optional analytics/logs/feedback layer for your shipped products, that telemetry is ingested via Aiola's cloud (Supabase/Tinybird). Offline: agent orchestration UI works offline; running agents requires provider access; GUI Lifetime keeps the local app opening even if Aiola's servers are unreachable.

  • Local-first execution — no cloud runner, no compute resale, no API-key middleman. You bring your own subscription and pay your provider directly.

Full feature surface

This list mirrors the in-app sidebar 1:1 — every page is a real feature shipped today.

Workspace pages

Page What it does Problem it solves
/dashboard Chat-driven operating surface tying threads to tasks, terminals, browser panels, diffs, Git One screen for the whole flow instead of switching between editor, terminal, and GitHub
/home Workspace landing; routes to welcome, onboarding, or central depending on state Stops users from landing in the wrong place mid-onboarding
/tasks Task board + list with state machine, drag-and-drop, imports, agent runs, auto-PR on completion Scattered to-dos that aren't tied to actual execution
/github PR/issue dashboard with AI review, AI fix flows, optional auto-comment, duplicate detection, bulk actions Incoming PR/issue overload
/app-logs Live error grouping with AI analyze, AI fix, status changes, realtime updates Debugging noise that gets lost when each project generates its own error stream
/feedback User feedback triage with customizable issue/feature field definitions Feedback turning into a graveyard
/analytics Stats, trends, geography, breakdowns, referrers, funnels, journeys, heatmaps, goals, realtime visitors Separates product performance from code questions
/calendar Scheduled tasks and recurring automations on one timeline Scheduled work hidden inside lists
/notebook One surface with three modes — Plan (nested-block editor), Notes (Apple Notes-style, searchable, #note-mentionable into chat), Todo (per-workspace checklist) — plus a Quick Note scratchpad (⌘⇧J) and Canvas whiteboard everywhere Vague notes instead of a concrete execution plan, and no place to capture notes or todos beside the work
/automations Recurring agentic jobs with rich @mentions (files, agents, tasks, logs, feedback, GitHub) Repetitive triage and reporting
/agents Browse built-in agent templates, create custom agents, attach skills Agent roles living in ad hoc prompts
/skills Reusable instruction modules per provider/category, injectable into chat Retyping domain-specific instructions
/info Project knowledge base: profile, brief.md, rules.md, "Analyze project" Agents repeating questions about basic project context
/terminals Integrated terminal canvas with split and canvas modes, thread-linked sessions Hopping into separate terminal windows and losing context

Central command center (cross-workspace)

/central/home, /central/tasks, /central/github, /central/app-logs, /central/feedback, /central/analytics, /central/calendar, /central/terminals, /central/settings (with appearance, keybinds, usage sub-pages).

Every central view aggregates the equivalent workspace data so you can prioritize across the whole portfolio.

Settings (per workspace)

/settings, /settings/git, /settings/integrations (Stripe, Google Search Console, Bing Webmaster Tools), /settings/environment (env scanner + .gitignore cleanup), /settings/tasks, /settings/mcp, /settings/analytics, /settings/app-logs, /settings/usage, /settings/archived-threads, /settings/api-key, /settings/instructions.

Auto-PR pipeline

When a task moves to create_pr, Aiola:

  1. Checks out the task branch in a worktree
  2. Commits any dirty changes
  3. Merges subtask branches if present
  4. Pushes the branch
  5. Creates the PR with gh pr create

If the pipeline fails too many times, the task lands in human_review with a pr-failed label, and a recovery sweep retries stuck tasks. A crash or transient git failure does not permanently wedge the task.

AI PR review

On any incoming PR you can trigger an AI review with the PR's files and history, or a fix flow that creates a worktree-backed thread on the PR branch using the same provider/model as the rest of the workspace. Optional auto-comment posts a concise summary back to the PR. Duplicate detection can auto-close duplicate issues and PRs.

FAQ

What is Aiola? Aiola is a local desktop app for running Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Grok CLI, and OpenCode agents across all your projects from one place — with threads, tasks, GitHub, app logs, analytics, feedback, automations, and agents. It runs on macOS and Windows.

Which AI coding tools does it work with? Aiola supports five agent CLIs: Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Grok CLI (including grok-4.5), and OpenCode. You bring your own provider access and Aiola orchestrates all five from one app — no API-key markup and no compute resale. OpenCode uses the model access you configure in OpenCode.

How much does it cost? The download is free with a 7-day free trial. Pro starts at $24/month, with yearly billing at 10× the monthly price (2 months free). GUI Lifetime is announced at launch pricing: first 10 customers $49, next 30 $89, then $129. One-time payment. Coming soon; not purchasable today.

What platforms does it run on? macOS (Apple Silicon and Intel, macOS 11+) and Windows 10+ (64-bit). A phone companion is coming.

Is Aiola an IDE? No. Aiola is the layer above your editor and CLI, not a replacement. Your agents run locally against your own repositories using your own subscription, so your code is never uploaded to Aiola — it stays on your machine and goes only to the AI provider you already subscribe to.
