This machine has two per-user .NET SDKs and neither is on PATH, because C:\Program Files\dotnet is runtime-only and a bare `dotnet` finds no SDK at all. The script probed only the newer one. The second SDK exists because of my mistake: `ls ~/.dotnet` from bash resolves to /home/sly, not the Windows profile, so the pre-existing 8.0.422 at C:\Users\DavidSeaman\.dotnet looked absent and I installed 8.0.424 alongside it. The script now prefers DOTNET_ROOT, then the profile copy, then LOCALAPPDATA — so removing the redundant one breaks nothing.
