Why

Players reported that coins hide the cards at the table ("is there a way to put the card texture on top of the denar texture so we can see even if there is a denar on it"). Item displays have no draw order. The gold coin model stands taller than a flat card, so a coin pile on a card always hides it. The coin area (0.3–1.2 blocks from the deck) also contains the board row (0.55) and the discard pile (0.35), and the plugin never checked whether a card was already at the spot. That happened both for clicks and for the plugin's own spreading of coins.

What changes

  • Coin piles are drawn at the nearest spot that leaves every card on the felt showing: the deck, the discard and every table pile card (board, dealer). Card outlines come from the live display poses, using the card face (10×14 of 16 px) at card-scale. The new spot stays on the same kind of ground as the original: felt piles stay on the felt and out of the tray, tray piles stay in the tray, and nothing goes into the shoe zone.
  • This only changes where piles are drawn. The ledger spot stays where the coins were put. Once the cards leave (muck or recycle), the coins go back to that spot.
  • When a card is dealt onto coins, or the discard or deck changes, the piles under it are redrawn beside it. Each pile keeps how its chips lie (same layer yaws).
  • Clicking a pile drawn beside a card adds to that pile (its home spot) instead of starting a new pile on top of it.
  • Heaps are laid out first and then drawn. Heaps whose home is already clear stay put. The rest step off the cards, at least a spread step (0.12) from every heap already placed, so overflow heaps or several players' heaps pushed off one card never land on the same spot. Each bucket change places every heap on the table again.
  • Each pile remembers its stake's spot, so clicking an overflow heap drawn beside a card adds to that stake.
  • Payout flights are told which bucket pays them and start exactly where that bucket's heap of the same street and coin is drawn (WagerHost.flights gains sourceOwner).
  • Tray slots count by home spot, so a tray pile drawn beside a card still holds its slot.
  • New config wager.card-gap (default 0.1): the clearance from a pile's centre to a card's edge. 0 brings back the old behaviour. When the key is missing the default is used, so live configs need no edit.

Player hands are not included: they follow the player and are raised off the felt.

Tests

  • FeltClearanceTest: card outlines (and how they turn with yaw), distance, clearance, the nearest clear spot, the filter, and staying put when nothing in reach is clear.
  • TableManagerCardGapTest: coins clicked onto a board card are drawn beside it and return after a muck; a card dealt onto coins pushes them aside; clicking the moved heap merges into the same stake; tray coins drawn beside a card keep separate tray slots; heaps spilled onto a card stay apart and stay stable; clicking a spilled heap merges into its stake; a displaced heap steps aside for another bucket's heap at its own home; refunds, street refunds and partial withdrawals fly from the drawn heap; card-gap: 0 restores the old behaviour.
  • Dev (TFMCDev01) bot test with a real character: see the comments below. It was rerun on every round, last on 05e8c02.
  • Reviewed by Sol (GPT-6.1-Sol) over 4 rounds. Its findings were fixed in the follow-up commits, and the final verdict is APPROVE.

🤖 Generated with Claude Code

Chip models stand taller than a flat card, so coins put on (or dealt
under) a board card hid it. Piles are now drawn at the nearest spot that
leaves the shoe, the discard and every table pile card showing, staying
on the felt (or in the tray) they were put on. The ledger spot does not
change: once the cards leave, the coins slide back to where they were
put, and clicking a pile drawn beside a card adds to that same heap.

wager.card-gap (default 0.1 blocks) sets the clearance; 0 keeps the old
behaviour.

📝 Summary

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • New Features
    • Added configurable card clearance for chip placement, with a default gap of 0.1 blocks.
    • Chips and payout animations now originate from the appropriate piles.
    • Piles retain their original stake locations when moved to clear cards and remain interactive at their displayed positions.
  • Bug Fixes
    • Prevented chips and spilled heaps from overlapping table cards, decks and discard piles.
    • Improved payout and refund positioning for displaced and unplaced piles.
  • Tests
    • Added coverage for card-aware placement, clearance, pile movement and payout animations.

The change adds a configurable minimum gap between chip piles and displayed cards. TableManager repositions affected piles and uses source-pile positions for payout flights where available.

The wager.card-gap setting defaults to 0.1 and loads non-negative values. FeltClearance calculates card footprints, distances, and candidate positions. Tests cover geometry and clearance behaviour.

PotPile stores home and stake positions. TableManager repositions piles around card displays, maintains spacing and placement zones, and resolves clicks on displaced piles to their stake positions. Tests cover pile placement, rebuilding, and zero-gap behaviour.

The flight API accepts a source owner. Payout flights use matching source-pile positions where available, and MoneyTx passes the source account owner. Tests cover the updated call and flight origins.

Dev test (TFMCDev01, branch jar 31ccdc2)

The mineflayer bot TestChar1 played as its real character on a sky platform: a free-play table, yaw 90 (board card 0.55 west of the deck). The bot read the chip and card ItemDisplay positions from the spawn and metadata packets.

Check Result
Table placed (10 deck layers at the origin) PASS
Coins clicked on the empty board spot are drawn where clicked (3020.950, 3020.500) PASS
/games deal table board 1 puts the card at 3020.950, 3020.500 PASS
Dealing the card onto the coins removes that pile and redraws it at (3020.993, 3020.716), 0.106 from the card edge (gap 0.1) PASS
Coins clicked straight onto the card merge into the same stake and are drawn beside the card PASS
Clicking the heap drawn beside the card adds to it (no new heap spot) PASS
Picking up the table removes every display PASS

There were no Games errors in latest.log, and the startup was clean (Games enabled.).

Piles are laid out first and drawn after: piles whose home is already
clear of the cards stay put, and the rest step off the cards a spread
step away from every pile already placed, so overflow heaps pushed off
one card no longer land on the same spot. Flights only keep apart from
each other, since the heaps they replace are still drawn.

A pile now remembers its stake's spot, so clicking an overflow heap drawn
beside a card adds to that stake instead of starting a new one.

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
A bucket redraw now places every pile on the table again, so a heap at
its own clear home can stand where another bucket's heap was pushed off a
card, and that heap steps aside instead of being covered.

Payout flights are told which bucket pays them and start exactly where
that bucket's heaps are drawn. Only flights with no drawn heap of their
own are placed fresh, around the matched ones, so two owners' flights off
one card no longer start on the same spot.

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
A flight now only takes off from a heap of the same street and coin, so
refunding one street no longer flies from another street's heap at the
same spot. A stake nobody placed is laid out with its whole bucket, which
a partial withdrawal does not repeat, so its flights take any heap of
that kind instead of guessing a slot.

Dev retest on the final head 05e8c02 (TFMCDev01, same bot test as above): all 7 checks PASS. The coins are drawn 0.106 from the board card edge, the click on the moved heap merges into the same heap, and picking up the table leaves 0 displays. Each earlier round (601ed5e, d5eee8f) also passed.

The search for room beside the cards now reaches a block past the
configured card-gap, so a wide gap still finds a spot instead of leaving
the pile on the card.

Clicking a heap drawn beside a card whose stake nobody placed is now an
unspotted deposit, so the coins join that stake instead of starting a
placed heap at the layout spot.
