Summary

Docs-only PR #151 correctly skips the Python source-install matrix, but main still requires the expanded Python 3.11 and Python 3.14 names. A skipped matrix emits neither name, leaving the PR blocked indefinitely.

Add the stable Python validation summary over change detection and the source-install matrix. Require matrix success whenever Python builds are selected or detection fails; accept a skipped matrix only when successful detection explicitly selected no Python build. Keep Windows Python and repaired-wheel gates separate.

Extend the existing executable verdict tests to cover this summary and document the safe required-check migration. After cloud validation, replace the two expanded required names with Python validation, preserving all other protection. No test matrix is removed and no library behavior changes.

Testing

  • The extended test failed before the Python summary existed.
  • 27 helper tests and 299 subtests passed, including the new success/failure/cancel/skip cases.
  • Ruff, extracted-command ShellCheck, YAML dependency check, strict MkDocs and diff checks passed.

Cloud validation and remote required-check migration are pending. PR #151 remains separate and will need updating after this fix lands. Existing Material MkDocs advisory remains.
