What changed

  • Close a documented interoperability gap: the JavaScript validateWireEnvelope accepted extra fields and repeated or malformed capabilities that the Python implementation and schema rejected. Both now apply the same structural, metadata, kind, and temporal checks on a calendar-valid millisecond ISO subset.
  • Add 19 selected cross-runtime envelope cases: two valid controls and 17 targeted rejections. CI uploads a compact machine report, and the Python workflow now triggers on changes to the JavaScript validator and wire schema.
  • Document the stricter validation for integrators and keep the separate numeric canonicalization limit explicit.

Validation

  • node scripts/check-python-wire-runtime.mjs: 19 matching JavaScript/Python outcomes; negotiation and five artifact classes pass
  • node --test --test-reporter=dot
  • npm run api:stability && npm run upgrade:check && npm run compatibility:consumer
  • Link, deployment surface, package surface, and diff checks

This is project-authored cross-runtime evidence for selected fixtures, not a complete interoperability certification.
