Base: design/autostory (parent: #42). This stacked draft shows only the demo-plan revision relative to that design proposal.

The existing plan put shared-framework work ahead of proving FRLG gameplay. Define two smaller demos first: startup through a verified post-rival save, and a parcel trip from a prepared save through verified Pokédex acquisition.

  • Specify versioned JSON map resources, a pinned eight-map source subset, typed loading, and separation of static maps from observed position and story state.
  • Add SID Helper and Starter RNG handoffs, including stopping before name confirmation, preserving the new identity before resets, and saving facing the chosen starter.
  • Inventory keyboard, battle, save and navigation prerequisites; identify existing BDSP/SV modules to reuse and defer broader extraction until both game adapters work.
  • Define acceptance gates for ordinary unattended runs and separate validation of manual RNG handoffs.

How to review

Read docs/design/FRLG-Demo-Work-Plan.md for the proposed work, then AutoStory-Map-Reuse-Review.md for the source evidence and reuse decisions. The other two documents update the existing proposal and mark the older PR sequence as superseded. No gameplay code is changed.

Validation

  • git diff --check passed.
  • Relative file links in all four changed documents resolve.
  • Source inspection and official RNG documentation informed the plan. No build, native tests or console runs were performed for this documentation-only change; implementation and hardware acceptance gates remain future work.
