Refresh the reports maintenance runtime before adoption #5545
The prepared reports-controller maintenance image still uses the preceding compiler and dependency set. Its runtime audit must be remediated before image adoption can complete the existing controller recovery work.
Outcome
Publish a replacement maintenance image with a patched supported compiler and remediated runtime dependencies, preserving the released controller behavior and the tested watch-plan correction.
Acceptance
Preserve the complete lint gate and meaningful race regressions, including API failure and watch-plan controls.
Verify the actual Linux compiler, source and executable dependency findings; distinguish module metadata from packages present in the executable and retain evidence for every disposition.
Publish with the existing immutable source, provenance and signing boundaries, then independently verify the published executable and digest.
Adopt only after the active verification policy and all existing rollout gates resolve; confirm fresh controller observations afterward.
Part of #4929. The separate Go 1.27 lint compatibility work in #5484 and #5492 remains independently tracked.
#5508 - feat(security): verify the reports image with its dedicated publisher [merged]

Native Linux verification caught an additional executable-version identity problem after the source tests, full lint and source audit passed. The binary audit remains red and #5546 stays draft; no image was published or adopted. I am preserving that failure and checking the released-module version binding before assessing the remaining records. The audit gate is unchanged.
The remaining three binary findings are caused by published Go vulnerability records with open-ended version ranges, while Kyverno's primary advisories state narrower affected or patched versions. I verified the records against the primary advisories and reproduced the result with truthful release metadata. A concise correction report to golang/vulndb is necessary: an in-portfolio ignore list or custom vulnerability database would bypass the normal scan rather than correct its source. The upstream is public and unrelated to professional work; its contribution instructions and report template permit curated public corrections. The draft and scanner remain blocked until the records are resolved.
Blocker: the connected GitHub integration refused creation of the upstream data-correction report (HTTP 403, resource not accessible). No report was created, and no alternate credential was used. The prepared report covers only public advisory/version data. This does not clear the scanner or the draft.
The public-data correction report is now filed as golang/vulndb#6886 through the already configured CLI, without changing credentials or permissions. This resolves the GitHub plugin's delivery limitation recorded above. Upstream review and corrected published records remain pending; no scanner finding is waived.
