Turns Renovate on for this repo, with one grouped PR a week for patch and minor updates. This supersedes the onboarding PR #1.
Config
renovate.json:config:recommended: Renovate's defaults, including the Dependency Dashboard issue.group:allNonMajor: all patch and minor updates go into one PR (renovate/all-minor-patch). Majors stay separate PRs, one per dependency.schedule:weekly: Renovate opens and updates PRs only before 4am on Monday (UTC).:semanticCommits: always uses conventional commit subjects. Without it Renovate guesses from the history, and half of that history is merge commits.:semanticCommitTypeAll(chore): every Renovate commit ischore(deps): …, Go module updates included. The Tag workflow releases nothing forchore, so merging a dependency update never cuts a CLI release by itself. The update ships with the next real release. Without this preset, Go module updates would befix(deps), and every merge would release a patch version.postUpdateOptions: ["gomodTidy"]: runsgo mod tidyafter Go updates, so theGo mod tidycheck stays green. There is no Dependabot config in this repo, and this PR doesn't add one.
Checks
renovate-config-validator --strict:Config validated successfully.renovatepackage) give these commit types:github.com/spf13/pflag(gomod, patch):chore, in group "all non-major dependencies". The previous commit's config gavefix.actions/checkout(github-actions, major):chore, in no group.renovate --platform=local --dry-run) against this branch found 4 branches:renovate/all-minor-patch:github.com/spf13/pflag1.0.9 → 1.0.10.actions/checkoutv7,actions/setup-gov7,goreleaser/goreleaser-actionv7.before 4am on Monday, and the Dependency Dashboard would be created.PR #1
Renovate closes its onboarding PR itself once a config is on
master. If it doesn't, I'll close #1 by hand after this PR merges.Pre-reviewed by an agent (t-0064) at 915e45c; no findings to fix.
