Summary

Move the three marketing/positioning strategy design docs that PBIs #41 and #42 reference out of the Cathedral repo and into this repo's docs/ folder, so the PBIs are self-contained and the Cathedral codebase no longer holds marketing design material.

What moved

Doc Referenced by Old location (Cathedral repo) New location (this repo)
marketing-page-redesign.md #41 _docs/strategy/marketing-page-redesign.md docs/marketing-page-redesign.md
pricing-and-licensing-strategy.md #42 _docs/strategy/pricing-and-licensing-strategy.md docs/pricing-and-licensing-strategy.md
ux-and-positioning-strategy.md #41, #42 _docs/strategy/ux-and-positioning-strategy.md docs/ux-and-positioning-strategy.md

Internal cross-references between the three docs updated to repo-relative docs/ paths.

Why

These docs are the source of truth for PBIs #41 and #42. They belong with the marketing site, not with the product codebase. Moving them here lets the Cathedral repo delete them (cleanup in progress on the docs-update branch) and makes the PBIs self-contained — no cross-repo link to keep in sync.

After merge

PBI #41 and #42 link references will be updated to point to docs/ in this repo. The Cathedral repo will remove the originals from _docs/strategy/.

Move the three marketing/positioning strategy docs that PBIs #41 and #42
reference out of the Cathedral repo (where they were in _docs/ux-strategy/
and _docs/strategy/) into this repo's docs/ folder, so the PBIs are
self-contained and the Cathedral codebase no longer holds marketing design
material.

Docs moved:
- marketing-page-redesign.md (referenced by #41)
- pricing-and-licensing-strategy.md (referenced by #42)
- ux-and-positioning-strategy.md (referenced by both #41 and #42)

Internal cross-references updated to repo-relative docs/ paths.

  • Adds marketing page redesign doc defining pillars, copy direction, and page structure changes.
  • Adds pricing & licensing strategy doc defining tiers, per-Solution pricing, and the three-option LLM cost model.

  • After renumbering the preceding section to 3.3, this section should become 3.4 to keep numbering monotonic.
### 3.3 Why per-Solution is the right volume axis

docs/pricing-and-licensing-strategy.md:119

  • After renumbering the preceding section to 3.4, this section should become 3.5 to keep numbering monotonic.

### 4.2 The 20-person consulting company — the ideal hybrid customer

The "growing, more powerful smaller shops" the user named are not a edge case — they may be the **ideal early customer**, for several reasons:
| Tier | Who it's for | What they get | Price axis |
|---|---|---|---|
| **Exploratory** (free) | Individuals, small shops, prototyping teams, open-source projects | Deterministic checks (unlimited), limited Solutions (1–3), limited integrations, community support, no evidence packs, **light managed LLM** (Ollama Free-equivalent: enough to try ingestion a few times) + BYOK for more | Free — the "try it and see" tier |
| **Developing** (per-Solution, monthly/annual) | Serious teams, consulting companies, growing shops | Full check engine, more Solutions (per-Solution pricing), standard integrations, evidence pack exports, email support | Per active Solution per month |

This is value-based pricing on the axis the buyer themselves perceives: "how much is it going to hurt if this goes wrong?" Cathedral's answer: "less, if you use us at the tier that matches your risk."

### 3.5 Concrete price points (USD, US market, initial launch)
2. *"The system of record your tools can't be."*
— Names the hub position. Provocative. Good for the "why not Jira" question.

4. *"Machine-checkable requirements. Human-curated. Agent-fed."*

## 6.5 The Marketing Funnel Complement

The five pillars above are *content* pillars — the claims the page makes. The Marketing Centre's "4 Pillars" model (Define → Find → Win → Keep) is a *funnel* model — the stages of the customer journey those claims serve. The two are complementary. Mapping our content against the funnel surfaces two gaps:
