In the log, I read the book at 14:14:42 and the game crashes at 14:14:43 after a truly incredible number of errors that seem to cascade through half the mods I have installed. I'm reporting here because it does seem to be a Star Control or Star-Control-related issue, with Star Control being the first mod to error and a couple of other people on the net having similar crashes and saying it's Star Control. I didn't see that anyone had reported it here yet so here you go.
Near as I can tell, the issue has to do with reading a modded recipe book using the radial menu. Weird as heck. I'm not sure I'll have time to reproduce it in a minimally-modded environment, but if I do I'll post the results here.
