Expose raw JP2K wavelet reductions as pyramid levels using independent reduced-resolution reference fixtures. Enable stored VSI JP2K passthrough and device reads, preserve sparse-background behavior, and improve JPEG/DICOM/TIFF/VMS/MIRAX reads and shared decode scheduling.
Includes reader, cache, and OpenSlide-shim regressions plus architecture and changelog updates. The API-check wrapper captures snapshot stdout while streaming build diagnostics to CI stderr, so stalled dependency builds are visible. Reduced levels use CPU wavelet reduction rather than full-image resampling; full-resolution device and passthrough behavior remains explicit.
Validation:
cargo xtask validatepassed: formatting, Clippy, release support binaries, 1,065 default tests, 1,115 Metal-feature tests, 3 doctests, and documentation generation. The initial focused library run also passed 996 tests. Optional corpus tests were skipped where required; CUDA and full release preflight were not run.The diagnostic follow-up passed all four existing process-wrapper tests and formatting checks. Linux and macOS API-stability checks passed on the updated commit.
