Sunspot is an early-stage, open source, community-built chat app.

The idea started from a simple frustration: most chat apps treat their users as a product. Your data, your habits, and your conversations become something to be collected, analyzed, and monetized, and you rarely get a real say in how any of it works. Sunspot is an attempt to flip that relationship — an app that's actually accountable to the people using it.
