@jsoref I have no idea what apps.github.media is, so this looks like it's probably reasonable just based on that. Do you have any links to associated pages? The one there gives me a 404, and I'd like to look at it to see if there's somewhere we could put it that's not a site policy doc. It's difficult to get anything in those changed.

It's app.github.media (no s). And for whatever reason, someone at GitHub decided it was a good idea to send email with links to it.

I've forwarded an email to you that I received from GitHub with that address.

It was really weird. But as far as anyone can tell, it really does appear that GitHub was sending the email. If it is GitHub, it'd be really nice if GitHub made it clear. And if it isn't, then GitHub should do a trademark takedown of the domain (and then retain it). Either way, GitHub should clarify its control of the domain (and I believe that it already controls the domain).

It feels like they were using it for tracking link clicks, so if you have a marketing / announcements page that might be an ok place to hang the content.

@jsoref Okay, yep, this one is super weird and I'm not getting far trying to research it, so I'm going to ask around and see if anyone knows anything about it or knows which team might know something.

@jsoref After hunting around, the rest of the team thinks the site policy repo might be the place to check in about this, because they appear to be the keepers of what is an official GitHub site. No one else I've talked to appears to have heard of this site, so...that's also weird.

@jsoref Hmmm, that...is not a question I had considered. I will try to verify that someone is still watching that repository, although the person on our team who knows the most about it is out for the next few months.

If you could kindly raise an issue there, and let me know in this issue when you've done that, I'll bring it to the attention of the right people internally, and then close this issue out, if that sounds OK?
