Why

plan-fable and review-fable must write their report to ${TMPDIR}/claude-reports/<repo>/…, creating the directory if needed. But:

  • they have no Write tool, and tests/claude-agents.bats:148 bars Edit and Write from every read-only seat on purpose;
  • their own Read-only, strictly section forbids mkdir, redirects and heredocs.

"The one file you write is the report" named an exception without granting one, so a seat that followed its rules couldn't deliver its report.

What

Both seats keep the no-Write decision but now spell out the exception: mkdir -p on the report's directory, one quoted heredoc to the report path, and neither aimed at any other path. scout-haiku is untouched: it replies inline and writes no file.

Verified

  • bats tests/claude-agents.bats: 15/15 pass
  • after merge: chezmoi apply, then the next session's plan-fable or review-fable writes its report

🤖 Generated with Claude Code

Both seats must write their plan or review to a file under
$TMPDIR/claude-reports/, and creating its directory if needed. But they
have no Write tool (tests/claude-agents.bats bars Edit and Write from
every read-only seat), and their own Read-only section forbade every
Bash route to a file: no mkdir, no redirects, no heredocs. 'The one
file you write is the report' named the exception without making one,
so a seat following its rules exactly could not deliver its report.

Keep the no-Write decision and spell out the exception instead: mkdir -p
on the report's directory, one quoted heredoc to the report path, and
neither aimed anywhere else. scout-haiku is unchanged; it replies inline
and writes no file.
