jadx is the standard Dex-to-Java decompiler for Android APKs, with both a CLI and a GUI. Ubuntu does not package it in any suite, so the apt list carries a note pointing at the upstream release zip instead. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
jadx reads an APK as Java; apktool is the other half of the pair, decoding resources and smali and rebuilding a modified APK. Unlike jadx it is in Ubuntu (universe, 22.04 onward), so it goes in both lists. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
