Refactor temperature conversion function

Due to the complexity of temperature conversion formulae, the calculate_temperature() function has not yet been refactored. Either simple formulae must be written or the calculate() function must be enhanced to utilize complex formulae.

calculate_temperature() has been combined into calculate() but still requires custom logic. Progress!
