I'm James Feore: founder and applied-AI engineer in the Seattle area. I design and build enterprise-ready AI systems, like document extraction agents, retrieval pipelines, real-time data platforms, etc.
I got here the scenic way: an Engineer officer in the US Army, managing garbage/recycle collection for Seattle (680,000 pickups a month), coding bootcamp, six years at Microsoft, two patents, and a startup.
- Architected an enterprise document-extraction platform end to end as founding CTO of Aardvark Intelligence: Django, Next.js, PostgreSQL with pgvector, Pinecone, and LangChain/LangGraph on Azure.
- Built the extraction agent and RAG architecture that beat the strongest OpenAI and Anthropic baselines by 14% on internal evals, then beat a major pension fund's in-house analysts by 11% on the customer's own evaluation. It also found errors in their answer key.
- Designed the real-time processing architecture for Microsoft Teams call-quality telemetry, cutting data delay from 48-72 hours to about 30 seconds, which helped retain a Fortune 500 customer that was evaluating a move to Zoom.
- Co-inventor on two machine-learning and big-data patents.
- Appointed by the Governor of Washington to the state's Technology Services Board, and serve on its legislatively mandated cybersecurity subcommittee.
- Took a bootstrapped startup through SOC 2 Type 1 and Type 2 audits in its first year, personally handling every enterprise security review.
