Joel's Dot Files

My minimal, XDG-compliant, shell-impartial dot files + setup.

Requirements

• curl and git for Homebrew install
• The 1Password desktop app + CLI tool

Features

1. Works w/ Bash or ZSH

Installation

During initial setup, the following will be ran:

1. Check for required dependencies
2. Install Homebrew
3. Install packages (for shell bling and web development)
4. Install overrides (for dev-critical packages)

On WSL, a script to automatically integrate 1Password into WSL will run. This means the files generated do not yet contain details from 1Password, and you will need to run chezmoi apply afterwards to complete the setup.

Optional Feature Toggles

This configuration includes specialized scripts for my environments and locations. These are disabled by default and entirely optional.

chezmoi init prompts for each module below. Answering yes to a module also prompts for any machine-specific paths it needs (mount points, source directories, device paths, etc.), so those never need to be hardcoded or hand-edited.
