Any future plans for native Windows support?

Hello.
Thanks for creating this library. I am just starting to learn it.
I see that this is only supported on Linux and WSL2. Are there any plans to have it supported on native Windows in the future?

Hi, thanks for the issue. Native Windows support is something we can explore if there is demand.

It would be helpful to know some of the motivation for the feature request. Are there capabilities, features, or workflows that don't work via WSL for you today?

Thanks. I don't actually have a specific feature or workflow. My question was mostly because I do all my data science work in a windows environment (RStudio, VSCode, etc). I am simply more familiar with windows than I am with Linux.

For now, I'll explore setting up a Linux/WSL environment so that I can follow your installation steps.

In case helpful, you can get a graphical interface for WSL R with both VSCode and RStudio Server. Windows VS Code can connect to WSL (https://code.visualstudio.com/docs/remote/wsl). And/or you can run RStudio Server from WSL which you can access in a browser from Windows https://posit.co/products/open-source/rstudio-server.

I am trying to install this package on Ubuntu 24.04.1 LTS installed in Windows 11. The R version installed in Ubuntu is 4.3.3, and I am not able to install tidymodels. It returns the following error
