When you update your User status you there should be an option to hook into the Social feed

PR #2291 reviewed #1184 against the public API. The stable OCP\UserStatus\IManager contract exposes status reads and programmatic writes but no status-changed callback (Nextcloud developer manual). The available OCP\User\Events\UserLiveStatusEvent is for live presence and is not emitted as the user-profile status-change event this feature needs. The current User Status StatusService persists status/message updates directly and dispatches no change event (current implementation). Polling that store would conflate explicit user updates with automatic Talk/calendar status changes and would not provide immediate delivery. No Social-only fix is claimed; a stable status-change event and an opt-in publishing contract are needed for safe federation. PR: #2291
