fix(vite): pass renderer template path to transformIndexHtml - #4672
Conversation
Vite derives the HTML filename from the URL, so passing "/" made relative imports in inline <style> resolve against the root directory.

The Vite dev renderer called
server.transformIndexHtml("/", html). Vite derives the HTML filename from that URL, so it resolved to the root directory instead of the template file. Relative imports in an inline<style>inindex.html(e.g.@import "./src/style.css") failed to resolve, and the HTML was served untransformed. This passes the renderer template path relative to the Vite root (or a
/@fs/URL when it is outside the root). The bug was hidden when
cwdequals the root, because the CSS import resolver falls back tocwd. The new test (test/vite/html-template.test.ts) does notchdir, so it fails without the fix.🤖 Generated with AI assistant
