fix(ocr): audit fixes part 1 - dedupe, Donut, seeding, text-detector post-processing, residuals - #2269
Conversation
Nine models existed twice, and TestScaffoldGenerator.CollisionOwners gave each name to one copy, leaving the other with no generated tests. The OCR audit compared each pair against its paper and kept the faithful copy: - ComputerVision CRNN, TrOCR, CRAFT, DBNet and EAST are real graphs (BiLSTM, concatenating merge branches) and own the generated tests. The Document/OCR copies were flat factory chains (CRNN's "RNN" was Dense layers; CRAFT had no U-Net skips), so they are deleted with their options and their five LayerHelper factories. - Document LayoutLMv3, Donut, Nougat and Pix2Struct are kept. The VisionLanguage/Document copies were all the CreateDefaultDocumentOCRLayers template, so they are deleted. The generator drops the nine collision owners and three dead fixture branches that targeted deleted namespaces. The integration tests of the deleted copies are removed; the survivors are covered by their generated invariants. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
…nt models on the page Predict …sees Donut was excluded from test generation by name, so only the deleted template copy had a scaffold, and the paper-faithful Swin-B + BART model was never exercised. Once tested it failed 12 of 34 invariants, and the model turned out to be unusable in native mode: - PredictCore returned the encoder features only, after preprocessing the page twice. - The decoder ran without the encoder memory, so every generation ignored the image. - Generation embedded tokens through a separate, untrained table, then fed those float embeddings into the decoder's token EmbeddingLayer. - Training ran the flat layer list, so the Swin output reached the token embedding. Donut now wraps its encoder and decoder in VisionEncoderDecoderLayer, the composite Nougat and Pix2Struct already use. Generation calls Decode with the encoded page, and the dead embedding tables and hand-rolled gradient code are removed. The factory adds a linear bridge only when the encoder width differs from the decoder's (never at paper scale). The model reports its lazily built native layers as uninitialized parameters. Training input: TrainWithTape never called PrepareInputForTraining; only the conformance probe did, so the probe and real training saw different tensors. TrainWithTape now applies it unless the model's ForwardForTraining owns its input. DocumentNeuralNetworkBase overrides it with PreprocessDocument, which fixes the mismatch in 22 of the 23 document models that trained on the raw page while predicting on the normalized one. Dessurt's manual call is removed so its page is not normalized twice. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
Two detection/OCR models built from identical options started from different weights: 96% of YOLOv8's parameters and 99.9% of DBNet's and CRNN's differed. - ObjectDetectorBase and OCRBase arm LayerInitializationSeedScope (TextDetectorBase does too, in the next commit, whose constructor hunk it shares) from the options' RandomSeed, the root-model contract DiffusionModelBase already follows. TextDetectionOptions and OCROptions gain RandomSeed (default 42, null for unseeded), and the end-to-end readers pass it through. - That alone seeded nothing. The detection backbones are NeuralNetworkBase models, and that constructor re-armed the scope from the backbone's own (null) seed. The backbones now build their architecture through DetectionBackboneArchitecture, which draws the seed from the enclosing scope, exactly as a layer does. - LSTMLayer and 15 other layers drew initial weights from the global RNG through Tensor<T>.CreateRandom, ignoring the layer seed. They now pass the layer's seeded Random. - Necks, the DETR/RT-DETR/DINO query tables and Swin's relative-position bias used a fixed seed of 42 per call. That gave every same-shape tensor identical values: all FPN levels shared one output matrix, and DINO's content queries equalled its positional queries. They now draw from the scope with LayerInitializationSeedScope.NextRandom(). DetectionSeedingTests checks, for YOLOv8, DBNet and CRNN: - equal seeds give equal weights and predictions; - different seeds give different weights; - a null seed arms no seed of its own. With the fix, all 57 YOLOv8 layers and all 71 DBNet layers are seeded, with 0 differing weights between equal-seed builds (the fix-free baseline was 0 seeded layers). Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
…et, CRAFT and EAST - Batching: every text detector decoded batch position 0 of a batched forward and returned it as the whole answer, silently dropping the rest. TextDetectorBase now owns Detect and a new DetectBatch: one forward, then each image's outputs are sliced through DetectionOutputBatching, which ObjectDetectorBase now shares. Detect refuses a batch instead of dropping images. The three identical per-model Detect copies are removed. - DBNet: the binary map marks the SHRUNK kernel, and nothing dilated it back, so every box was the kernel. Boxes are now the component's minimum-area rectangle grown by D' = A' r' / L', with r' = 1.5 (Eq. 10), as in the reference post-process. - CRAFT: one threshold on both maps is replaced by the reference three: low-text 0.4 and link 0.4 build the mask, and a component survives if its peak region score reaches the confidence threshold. Link-only pixels are removed before boxing, then the size-dependent dilation and a minimum-area rectangle are applied. - EAST: plain NMS over per-pixel boxes is replaced by locality-aware NMS: row-major, score-weighted merging of overlapping neighbours, then standard NMS, with each box rescored by its mean score-map value. - CRNN: batch norm was batch statistics only (one image's output depended on its batch) and ran after ReLU. It is now real batch norm after conv5 and conv6 (Shi et al. 2017, Table 1): learned scale/shift and running statistics, before ReLU, with pretrained batchnorm4/5 weights mapped. OCRBase gains the training-mode switch the detector bases already had, and Train uses it. - TextDetectorBase also arms the seed scope in its constructor here (#2201), because that hunk is shared with the batching change. TextBoxGeometry holds the shared minimum-area rectangle (hull plus rotating calipers). DBNetUnclipTests checks the dilation against hand-worked geometry. The new generated invariant DetectBatch_EqualsDetectingEachImageAlone requires batched results to equal per-image ones, and the two images to differ, so a decoder that reads item 0 cannot pass. The DBNet, CRAFT and EAST positive-fixture oracles are recomputed for the paper geometry. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
Six document factories built each "BERT layer" as a flat chain: MultiHeadAttention, then LayerNorm, then Dense(4d, GELU), then Dense(d), then LayerNorm. Neither MultiHeadAttentionLayer nor LayerNormalizationLayer adds its input back, so every layer computed LN(Attn(x)) instead of LN(x + Attn(x)), and the stacks were not the paper architectures. LayoutLM, LayoutLMv2, LayoutXLM, DocFormer, the Pix2Struct encoder and the UDOP encoder now use TransformerEncoderLayer: post-LN, GELU, with both residuals, and the width given eagerly. Their consumers split Layers by fixed prefix counts or by layer type, and both are unaffected; each model's generated invariants pass. Still to do, because the block is not this plain shape: LiLT (dual stream), PICK, the KOSMOS causal-multimodal stack (a topology rewrite), and the ABINet vision stage. The same defect spans about 90 non-document factories and gets an analyzer ratchet. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>

…with shrinking baselines
Each of these defects stayed invisible because nothing gated it. Every rule is now a compile error
for any NEW violation. The existing violations sit in a checked-in baseline, and a baseline entry
that no longer violates is itself an error, so the baselines can only shrink.
- AIDN040 (untested model): Warning -> Error. The 328 models untested today are listed in
DefectBaselines.UntestedModels, keyed by fully qualified name because simple names collide.
ADNGEN002 reports stale entries.
- ModelDefectClassAnalyzer (AiDotNet assembly only):
- ADNDEF001: the same model implemented twice (same simple name and same primary
[ResearchPaper]). 60 types / 30 pairs, e.g. AudioLM, VALLE, CSDI, TimeGrad, SAM, GLaMM,
Branchformer. Matching on the paper alone flagged 700+ legitimate pairs (a model and its
loss, size variants), hence the name requirement.
- ADNDEF002: a LayerHelper factory that yields a bare MultiHeadAttentionLayer, i.e. a
"transformer" with no residual connection. 101 factories.
- ADNDEF003: a model built from a LayerHelper factory that models of other papers also use,
with no [ArchitectureFromPaper] naming the architecture it reuses. 426 models.
ArchitectureFromPaperAttribute is new.
- ADNDEF004: a stale baseline entry.
Verified by mutation: removing a real ADNDEF001 entry (VALLE) produced exactly that error, and
adding a nonexistent ResidualFreeFactories entry produced exactly one ADNDEF004. Both the library
and the test project build clean with the baselines.

…ntropy PSENet defaulted to BinaryCrossEntropyWithLogitsLoss, with a comment calling it the paper's objective. Wang et al. 2019 (Eq. 5) actually train with L = 0.7 L_c + 0.3 L_s, both Dice losses: - L_c is the complete text map under Online Hard Example Mining: every positive pixel plus the 3x as many highest-scoring negatives. - L_s covers the shrunk kernels, scored only where the predicted complete map says text. PSENetLoss implements this per image and per kernel, with the reference 0.001 smoothing, and applies the sigmoid itself so PredictCore still returns raw logits. The masks are constants, and the loss stays on the tape. PSENetLossTests checks OHEM selection, the easy-negative drop, and the 0.7/0.3 weighting with the text-region mask, against values computed from the formula. All 45 PSENet generated invariants pass under the new loss, the training ones included. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
…r, and the paper's fusion - Tokens: the vision stage reshaped [B, C, H, W] straight to [B, H*W, C]. That reinterpreted the channel-major buffer, so a "token" was a run of one channel's values across positions instead of one position's feature vector. It now reshapes to [B, C, H*W] and transposes. - Depth: the transformer after the CNN was a single bare MultiHeadAttention with no residual, and the visionLayers option was never read. It is now visionLayers (default 3, as in the paper) TransformerEncoderLayers, which removes CreateDefaultABINetVisionLayers from the ADNDEF002 baseline. - Fusion: after the gate, numIterations Dense + LayerNorm blocks reused the iteration count as depth. The paper sends the gated features straight to the classifier. The factory's unused numIterations parameter is removed. Still open: languageLayers. The BCN is one cloze layer rather than the paper's 4 decoder layers with positional queries, and it needs its own layer (a residual on the embedding stream would leak the very character being predicted). All 40 ABINet generated invariants pass. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
…bridge, and EOS supervision - Sizes: both stacks were hard-coded to 512 wide, 8 heads and 6 layers, which matches no published TrOCR. TrOCROptions (an OCROptions) defaults to TrOCR-Base (Li et al. 2023, Table 1): a BEiT-Base encoder (768, 12 heads, 12 layers) and a 1024-wide, 16-head, 12-layer decoder. The model reads it when given one, and uses TrOCR-Base otherwise. - Bridge: the widths differ, so encoder memory is projected to the decoder width before cross-attention, as HuggingFace's enc_to_dec_proj does. It is absent when the widths agree, and pretrained weights map from enc_to_dec_proj. - EOS: generation stops at the end token, but training never supervised it unless the caller's labels contained it. Rows without it now get it right after their content. - Serialization moves to version 2, which stores the encoder and decoder sizes separately. The generated fixture runs the same topology at 32/48 widths, so the bridge is exercised. All 20 TrOCR invariants, the incremental-decoding tests and the reader tests pass. CRAFT ran on a ResNet-50 under a comment saying "VGG16-based backbone". Baek et al. 2019 (section 3.1) use VGG-16 with batch normalization, cut as in the reference vgg16_bn. VGG16BNBackbone (new, an IDetectionBackbone): - Configuration D: 13 conv3x3 + BN + ReLU layers in 5 blocks, with 2x2 pooling after the first four. - CRAFT's fc6/fc7 as convolutions: a 3x3 stride-1 pool, conv 3x3 with dilation 6 to 1024 channels, then conv 1x1 to 1024. - Returns [relu2_2, relu3_3, relu4_3, relu5_3, fc7] at strides 2/4/8/16/16. - Draws its seed from the enclosing scope (#2201), and starts in inference mode so a rebuilt copy normalizes the same way as the original. The CRAFT decoder now follows the reference: upconv1 reads fc7 concatenated with relu5_3, then merges relu4_3, relu3_3 and relu2_2, so the region and affinity maps are at H/2. All CRAFT invariants and the new backbone's generated invariants pass (51/51). Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
YOLOv8 ran the same YOLOv4/v5-style CSPDarknet and generic PANet as v9, v10 and v11, with no batch
norm anywhere. It now builds its own architecture from ultralytics' yolov8.yaml:
- YoloBlocks (shared by the per-paper YOLO backbones, as decided):
- YoloConv: conv + BN + SiLU.
- YoloBottleneck.
- C2fBlock: split, n bottlenecks, and concatenation of every bottleneck's output.
- SPPFLayer: three chained 5x5 stride-1 pools.
Each is a LayerBase with a shape contract, restorable state and generated layer tests.
- YOLOv8Backbone:
- Conv stem, then four stride-2 Conv + C2f stages (backbone bottlenecks use the shortcut), then
SPPF; outputs P3/P4/P5.
- Scales follow the yaml [depth, width, max_channels], rounded to a multiple of 8. The old table's
XLarge depth of 1.33 was wrong; v8x is 1.00/1.25/512.
- YOLOv8Neck: top-down nearest upsampling + concat + C2f without shortcut, then bottom-up stride-2 Conv
+ concat + C2f. Each level keeps its own width, so NeckBase gains LevelChannels and the head
reads per-level widths.
YOLOv8Neck has no constructor the scaffold can build, so the new AIDN040 gate blocked the build
until it had tests: YOLOv8NeckTests covers per-level shapes, parameter registration, the write/read
round trip and seeding.
The task-aligned training oracle now evaluates the training-mode forward. With batch norm, Train
optimizes batch-statistics outputs while inference uses running statistics, so the oracle has to
read the same forward the step does. All 104 YOLO v8-v11 generated invariants pass.

YOLOv10 (Wang et al. 2024) extends YOLOv8; its contributions are the NMS-free dual label assignment (one-to-one plus one-to-many heads) this model already has. It ran the YOLOv4/v5-style CSPDarknet and a generic PANet, so it now uses YOLOv8Backbone and YOLOv8Neck, with both heads reading per-level widths. The task-aligned oracle's training-mode window now also covers YOLOv10's ForwardTrainingHeads read. YOLOv8-v11, DINO and Faster R-CNN generated invariants pass. A connected row of at least ten high-scoring pixels passes the size and peak checks. Its character points are collinear, so
TextBoxGeometry.MinAreaRectanglereturns an empty list and CRAFT silently drops the region. Add a dilated axis-aligned rectangle fallback when the minimum-area rectangle has fewer than four corners. As per path instructions, incomplete paths that “silently do nothing” are blocking.

If a caller sets
Options.BinaryThresholdto 0.9, a region with scores of 0.8 can now enter the mask because both comparisons use 0.4. The caller’s configured threshold has no effect. Expose the separate region and link thresholds through options with 0.4 defaults, and preserve an explicitBinaryThresholdoverride or remove that option from CRAFT’s supported configuration with a migration path.As per path instructions, “Users MUST be able to instantiate options and configure models.”

Two base-level defects the OCR/YOLO work exposed. BatchNormalizationLayer took its batch-statistics path only when input.Shape[0] > 1. Statistics are per feature over every other axis, so a single NCHW image still has H*W samples per channel. Every CNN trained one image at a time therefore used running statistics: initialized to mean 0 / variance 1 and never updated, so BN acted as the identity. The guard now counts samples per feature (input.Length / features). A [1, F] batch, one sample per feature, still falls back as before. Measured on YOLO11's backbone: per-stage spatial std fell from 0.14 to 1.3e-6 across 10 stages, and its attention q/k received gradients of about 1e-16, so plain SGD could not move them. With the fix all 420 of YOLO11's trainable tensors move. BatchNormalizationSingleImageTests pins per-channel normalization, running-statistic updates, and the [1, F] fallback. NeuralNetworkBase.DeepCopy restored layers and generated tensors, but not components a model registers with RegisterParameterComponent (Swin's layer norms and relative-position tables, for example): a clone rebuilt them freshly initialized. Those tensors used to be initialized from a fixed seed of 42, so the clone happened to match; once they follow the model seed (#2201), SwinTransformer's Clone invariant failed. Both copy paths now copy the registry's values, and all 30 Swin invariants pass. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
YOLO11 ran the YOLOv4/v5-style CSPDarknet with an SPPF and a generic attention block bolted onto
every neck output, neither of which is YOLO11's design. It now follows ultralytics' yolo11.yaml:
- Blocks (LayerBase, with shape contracts and generated layer tests):
- C3kBlock: a CSP block of bottlenecks.
- C3k2Block: the C2f layout, with C3k inner blocks when c3k is set, else bottlenecks.
- PSABlock: multi-head attention with a depthwise positional encoding on the values, plus a 2x
FFN, both residual; it uses Engine.ScaledDotProductAttention like MultiHeadAttentionLayer.
- C2PSABlock: split, PSABlocks on one half, fuse.
YoloConv gains groups and an optional activation.
- YOLOv11Backbone: Conv/C3k2 stages, SPPF, then C2PSA on P5, with yolo11's scales; m, l and x
force C3k (parse_model).
- YOLOv11Neck: YOLOv8's PAN topology with C3k2. YOLOv11NeckTests covers it (AIDN040 requires it).
- The bolt-on SPPFBlock and AttentionBlock are deleted, and the weights format moves to version 2.
YoloScale now carries both the v8 and v11 tables. All YOLOv8-v11 invariants pass, including every
trainable tensor moving (which needed the batch-norm fix in the previous commit).

The PR had conflicted with master since the options-surface work (#2090) landed, so no CI had run on it after its first push. Resolutions: - Document/OCR and VisionLanguage/Document duplicates, and their options: kept deleted (the audit decision), although master had migrated them to options classes. - CSPDarknet, EfficientNet, ResNet, SwinTransformer: master's options-based constructors, plus this branch's DetectionBackboneArchitecture seeding (#2201). - YOLOv8, YOLOv10, YOLOv11, CRAFT: this branch's per-paper architectures. The master side was the old CSPDarknet/PANet/ResNet wiring updated to the new options signatures, which those replace. - LayerHelper: the deleted Document/OCR factories stay deleted. - OCR integration tests: this branch's removal of the deleted copies' tests; PSENet uses master's options constructor. - Donut's generated fixture moves to master's DonutOptions constructor. - docs-wiki: the website example floor goes 1703 -> 1702. The deleted copies' wiki pages carried one compiling example, and every remaining example compiles. Measured locally on the merged tree: website 1702/1702, XML 1425/1425 (floor 1424), facade check clean. The merged tree builds with every analyzer and baseline. One regression batch passed (219/0); the rest were stopped for low RAM, so CI does the full verification, as decided. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>

… yolo scales - YOLOv8 and YOLOv10 now use YOLOv8Backbone/YOLOv8Neck and CRAFT a VGG16-BN backbone, so their native weight files write version 2 and reject version 1 with a message saying the old layout must be re-saved, instead of misreading it (YOLO11 already did this). - YoloScale.ForV8 / ForV11 threw nothing for an unknown ModelSize and silently built Medium; they now throw ArgumentOutOfRangeException. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
TrOCROptions has public setters but nothing checked them: a head count that does not divide the width truncated the head dimension, and a zero head count threw DivideByZeroException inside a layer constructor. TrOCROptions.Validate now names the bad option, and the constructor calls it before building any layer. Loading a version-1 file says it holds the former 512/6 shape and must be re-saved or retrained. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
…omments - Train now resets SetTrainingMode(false) in a finally, so a throwing TrainWithTape no longer leaves dropout and batch norm in training mode. - The learning-rate comment described the former BCE objective; it now states the rate was measured under BCE and still converges under PSENetLoss's Dice objective (the 81 PSENet tests, including the generated training invariants, pass). - PSENetLoss documents that OHEM keeps every negative tied with the threshold, as the reference ohem_single does. … and review follow-ups - C3k2's plain inner bottlenecks use Bottleneck's default e = 0.5 (ultralytics C3k2), not 1.0. - YoloConv's conv has no bias (ultralytics Conv is Conv2d(bias=False) + BN); BiasMode.Auto could not see the BN inside the block and kept one. - YoloBottleneck rejects an input width that cannot take its residual shortcut. - ABINet's vision trunk picks a head count that divides a non-default visionDim; docs updated. - Tests: different-seed cases for the YOLOv8/YOLO11 necks, a YOLO11n layer-2 parameter-count check against the published 6,640, and the detection oracle window restores eval mode in a finally. WIP: the C3k2 count test still fails - GetTrainableParameters() on the composite returns no tensors, which is the child-registration gap the YoloBlocks review thread describes. KairosTests.Training_ShouldReduceLoss and MoreData_ShouldNotDegrade failed in Generated Layers J-L on #2269 (loss 1.416515 -> 2.295179 after one step). The fixture builds Kairos at its full default (12 layers, hidden 512, about 40M parameters), so the parameter-update budget allows one step. With no optimizer named by the paper, Kairos fell back to new AdamOptimizer(this): lr 1e-3 with no warmup, so Adam's first step moved every parameter by the full rate. The gradient is right: the same step lowers the loss at 1e-4, 1e-5 and 1e-6. It surfaced with 2a3b8be, which made the transformer FFN output projection identity (paper-correct) instead of an accidental ReLU. KairosOptions now carries LearningRate (1e-3) and WarmupSteps (3000, 1% of the paper's 300,000 pretraining steps), and the default optimizer ramps linearly to the peak. That is a convention, not the paper's (it states none, and the PaperOptimizer record still says so): linear warmup is the standard start for transformer pretraining. The ramp starts at peak / WarmupSteps, not 0, because LinearWarmupScheduler trains its first batch at the initial rate and a zero there would make the first step a no-op. WarmupSteps = 0 restores the constant rate; a supplied optimizer still wins. Verified: all 49 Kairos tests pass twice on net10.0 (1 skipped), including Training_ShouldChangeParameters. FTTransformerClassifierTests failed in Unassigned - 02 on #2267 (0 of 2403 parameters changed; cross-entropy stuck at ln 3). The classification head was a FullyConnectedLayer given a null activation, which that layer reads as ReLU, so logits were ReLU(W h + b). An unseeded init that left every logit at or below zero produced a uniform softmax with zero gradient everywhere, and training never started (about half of runs). Gorishniy et al. FTTransformerBase.ActivateForHead applies it, and both heads now emit raw logits or values through an explicit IdentityActivation. Verified: FTTransformerClassifierTests pass 5 of 5 on net10.0, including Head_EmitsUnclampedLogits_SoADeadInitialisationStillTrains, which fails on the old head. Generated Layers C failed on #2269: CRNNEventDetector ClassOutput_ShouldBeNonNegative found a class score of -0.6495. Its head is a FullyConnectedLayer given a null activation, which read as ReLU until 2a3b8be made null mean identity, so negative logits now reach Predict. CRNN sound event detection (Cakir et al. 2017) is multi-label with a sigmoid output per class, and Detect compares each score with Options.Threshold, a probability. PredictCore now applies the sigmoid; training stays on the raw logits with BCE-with-logits through ForwardForTraining. This is the same train-on-logits, predict-with-sigmoid pattern as AudioEventDetector, FDYSED and AudioSep. Verified: all 36 CRNNEventDetector generated tests pass on net10.0 (1 skipped), and src builds for net471. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
…ransients Three shards failed on #2269 after 2a3b8be changed what a null activation means in fully connected layers. Each model was replayed locally on the same fixture: each one trains, and each probe was sampling a transient. No threshold, tolerance or learning rate changes. - DemucsNoise (Layers D), LossStrictlyDecreasesOnMemorizationTask: 2.339923 -> 5.421268. Its waveform output no longer passes through ReLU. At the paper's Adam 3e-4 the first update is a sign step of all 3.4M weights: |dtheta| = 0.555 = 3e-4 * sqrt(n). The evaluation loss went 1.68 -> 3.10 -> 0.69 -> 0.24 -> 0.16 -> 0.12 -> 0.04. It joins the audio branch's 15-step memorization list beside MatchaTTS and CosyVoice2. - TOTO (Layers T A-Tac), LossStrictlyDecreasesOnMemorizationTask: 1.086666 -> 1.077703 over 20 steps. TOTO trains with dropout, so GetLastLoss() is one draw per step: the draws wandered between 0.69 and 1.13, while the evaluation loss at the same parameters fell every step, 0.875 -> 0.456. It joins the deterministic-evaluation-loss table beside OpenVoiceV2 and NaturalSpeech. - TimeMAE (Layers T Tem-Tri), MoreData_ShouldNotDegrade: 2.4497 after 2 steps against an untrained 1.7548. It trains with Adam and no warm-up, as the reference does (Mingyue-Cheng/TimeMAE: AdamW / Adam at 1e-3, no schedule), and its evaluation loss overshoots before descending: 2.52 -> 1.89 -> 2.19 -> 2.59 -> 2.84 -> 2.81 -> 2.31 -> 1.99 -> 1.75. The probe moves to 5-vs-15 steps, as for BSVD and ABINet. Verified on net10.0: DemucsNoise 33/33, TOTO 36/36 and TimeMAE 36/36 generated tests pass (1 skipped each). The two re-measured probes pass again on a second run. Generator tests: 471/471. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
Conflict in .github/test-shards.yml: this branch's Unassigned - 02 list already held both entries master added, so it is kept as is. Semantic conflict in Florence2Options: master added [DimensionDivisibility(DecoderEmbeddingDim, NumDecoderHeads)], but this branch replaced those options with the paper layout. The check now covers the same constraint on the real fields: BART splits TextDim across NumHeads, and DaViT splits VisionBaseDim across VisionBaseHeads. Verified: net10.0 build, shard inventory gate, GraFPrint, fused clip and schedule parity, null-activation, BatchNorm, FT-Transformer and Florence-2 tests (209 passed), net471 build. The Unassigned - 01 shard still lost its 16 GB runner on master after the input-layout sweep was bounded: three more sweeps in it built each model of a family with paper-default options (ForecastOutputRankDiagnosticTests alone peaked at 8.2 GB). ModelSweepConstruction.Arguments now builds class-typed constructor arguments from ModelTestScale's bounded options for all four sweeps instead of four copies of the same loop. Their findings are unchanged: every verdict matches the paper-default run; only printed sizes differ (for example TSMixer's horizon 96 -> 32, vocoder mel channels 80 -> 32). … tests The generator, analyzer and playground tests created a fresh MetadataReference for every loaded assembly (AiDotNet.dll is 44 MB) on every compilation. Roslyn caches metadata and symbol tables per reference instance, so each test re-read and re-mapped them all, and the mappings are freed only by finalizers: native memory the managed heap cap cannot see (an 8 GB heap cap still reached 19.5 GB of working set). CachedMetadataReference.FromFile keeps one reference per path for the process; the files are build outputs that do not change during a run. 29 calls in 25 files. 473 generator and playground tests pass. With the sweep fix, Unassigned - 01 under CI's GC settings (gcServer=1, GCConserveMemory=9): peak working set 25.3 GB -> 11.7 GB, 1559 of 1559 pass. …pend on order DenseIdentity_CCE_OnFusedAdam_MatchesDeterministicReferenceLoss built its layers without a seed, so their weights came from the process-wide random stream and the test's precondition (a logit inside (1e-7, 1]) held or failed depending on what ran first. It failed once the sweep fix changed how much earlier tests drew. The architecture is now seeded; it passes alone, after the sweeps, and in the full shard. Two conflicts: - Directory.Packages.props: this branch bumped AiDotNet.Tensors and the native packages to 0.134.3 (the Tanh overflow NaN fix, #2216) and master to 0.134.2; 0.134.3 contains 0.134.2, so this branch's versions and release note are kept. - ConditionalGAN.cs: master added a UTF-8 BOM to line 1 and this branch added the Autodiff using there; both are kept. The merged tree does not build on its own: this branch made InstanceSegmenterBase a ModelBase, so MaskRCNN, SOLOv2 and YOLOSeg became generator model candidates, and master (#2269) made AIDN040 an error for a model with no fixture. The next commit adds their test family. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
…3-1761-1929-1834 Master merged #2254 and #2269. ObjectDetectorBase conflicted: master's #2201 and this branch's b192849 both seeded detector construction from Options.RandomSeed. Kept master's mechanism (ResetForModelConstruction + OfferSeedToNestedBackbone, the backbone taking a derived seed) and dropped this branch's duplicate ambient-seed fields and Backbone setter; DetectorInitializationSeedTests stays and passes under master's design. MIAVSR no longer violates ADNDEF003, so its baseline line is removed. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
- LatentDiffusionModelBase: a sample is an image when its channels match the VAE's input channels, even where that equals the latent depth. Imagen, DALL-E 2 and DeepFloyd IF use 3 and 3, and their first stage still downsamples by 4, so the old exclusion trained those denoisers on pixels while they generate in the latent space. - MambaBlock / RWKV7Block: built into an explicit architecture layer list, they initialise before the network opens its seed scope. LayerBase gains OnRandomSeedAssigned; both record a fingerprint of their unseeded constructor init and redo it from a seed assigned later, only while the parameters are still exactly the constructed ones (trained, loaded or set weights are kept). SsmLateSeedInitializationTests covers both behaviours. - NeuralNetworkBase.Options applies the options seed only while the model has no layers yet, so a later reassignment cannot restart the scope and hand new layers seeds earlier layers used. - XML crefs to the deleted RandomSeed now name Seed (RandomizedSmoothing, and TextDetectorBase and OCRBase, which #2269 added).
