The GPU-resident N-BEATS run was rejected on every Train and retrained on the eager tape path. The cause was a wrong eager GPU forward, not the resident step. Each block returned permuted [B,L]/[B,H] views of device-resident matmul results, and the stack summed them with TensorAdd. The DirectGpu eager binary shortcut reads a view's shared source buffer without its strides (AiDotNet.Tensors#1090), so the forecast was wrong: untrained holdout MSE was 1.12 on GPU against 1.46 on CPU. The accept gate scores through that forward, and the eager fallback trained on its gradients. - NBEATSBlock.ForwardTapeColumns computes in the [L,B] layout the block already used internally. RunForwardStack transposes once at each end, so every residual subtract and forecast sum is dense. The eager loop now calls RunForwardStack instead of a second copy of the stack. - Adam global-norm clipping runs inside optimizer.Step with one fused engine reduction. The anomaly guard reuses the same norm, and N-BEATS' duplicate host-side clip is removed. Measured on the #1804 workload (3x3 generic blocks, hidden 256, L 96, H 12, batch 64, 8 epochs, float, CUDA), 3 launches x 3 runs each: GPU before: 75-86 s wall, 17-21 GB allocated, resident run rejected GPU after: 24.33 s median (24.08-24.48), 0.30 GB, resident run accepted CPU engine: 12.47 s median on ~6 cores, 0.51 GB NBEATSGpuForwardParityIssue1804Tests fails on the old stack (forecast[1]: gpu=0.373 cpu=-0.317) and passes on the new one. The NBEATS|AdamOptimizer|ForecastMultiHorizon|TimeSeriesIntegrationTests filter gives 156 passed, 0 failed. Refs #1804 Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

The defect N-BEATS had is present in these two models as well: - N-HiTS summed per-stack permuted [B,H] forecast views with TensorAdd. - DeepAR's StackStepsToBL returned a permuted [B,L] view that went into the loss's TensorSubtract. On the DirectGpu engine both read the source layout (AiDotNet.Tensors#1090). - N-HiTS stacks now expose ForwardTapeColumns. The model sums forecasts column-major and transposes once. - DeepAR builds [B,L] densely: each [1,B] step is reshaped to [B,1] and the steps are concatenated on axis 1. - New test: NHiTSGpuForwardParityIssue1804Tests. NOT YET VERIFIED. The red/green run of the N-HiTS parity test was stopped for low system memory before it reported, and the DeepAR change has no run yet. …base class NeuralNetworkBase held the whole fused compiled-training lifecycle inline: - optimizer-to-kernel mapping; - regularization and clip rules; - the per-step transient arena; - the #1822 parameter-persistence check; - committed-plan state and its failure handling. Every other base class that trains on the gradient tape either had no fused path, or (N-BEATS, N-HiTS, Informer) re-implemented a reduced copy. That is why GPU residency was opt-in per model (#1804). - Training/FusedTrainingSession<T>: the lifecycle, instance-based, one per model. It holds the state that used to be _fusedTrainingCommitted, _fusedPersistenceVerified, _fusedStepsSincePersistenceCheck and _fusedTrainingDisabled. - Training/TapeTrainingStepper<T>: one call per batch. It takes the fused step when it applies and otherwise runs the eager tape step, which is the tape -> gradients -> TapeStepContext -> optimizer.Step -> OnBatchEnd sequence each model loop has copied. A committed plan that cannot continue throws, as NeuralNetworkBase did, except on device OOM or transient failures. - NeuralNetworkBase.TryTrainWithFusedOptimizer now builds a request and calls its FusedSession. It keeps only what is NN-specific: the auxiliary-input and per-layer-LR gates, parameter selection and warm-up, target alignment and composite objective, gradient publication, the post-step weight-cache flush and diagnostics, and the OOM-to-streaming fallback. Its copies of the checksum, persistence and regularization helpers are deleted. TryMapToFusedOptimizerConfig, OptimizerRegularizationOf and IsGpu*Failure forward to the shared implementation. - _fusedTrainingDisabled becomes the protected IsFusedTrainingDisabled property. MobileNetV2Network and the tests that reached the old fields by reflection now use the session. NN fused regression suites (Fused*|StreamingStep|FacadeModelOwnStep|RgLru| RecurrentGemma|StatefulMemory|Issue1822): 316 passed, 0 failed. … shared fused path TimeSeriesModelBase offered only a GPU-gated seam (CanTrainOnGpu + TryFusedResidentStep). N-BEATS, N-HiTS and Informer each wrapped it in their own TryTrainGpuResident loop: batching, a holdout accept/reject gate, a re-init on rejection and a copy of the fused hyperparameters. The fused path never ran on CPU, and other forecasters could not reach it at all (#1804). - TimeSeriesModelBase.TrainTapeBatch(layers, input, target, forward, loss, optimizer[, extraParameters, gradientClip]) is the single step entry point. It is backed by the shared TapeTrainingStepper: the fused compiled plan on any engine, the eager tape otherwise. The stepper resets the plan when a new optimizer instance arrives, which happens on each Train call. - N-BEATS, N-HiTS and Informer lose their resident loops, validation gates and LastRunUsedGpuResidentPath (≈ -630 lines). Their eager loops now call TrainTapeBatch. - Windows are filtered once and then shuffled, so batches keep a constant shape instead of a per-batch filtered B; each distinct shape is a separate compiled plan. - The optimizers are tensor-typed, so they map to the fused kernel. - N-HiTS: the batched, tape-recorded pooling now matches the per-sample pooling for a kernel that does not divide the lookback (ceil windows, short last window). RunForwardBatched therefore serves every config. - Informer trains the complete CollectTrainableParameters set, model-level projections included; the old resident path passed only its layers. - FusedTrainingSession's #1822 persistence probe now runs on the device. It copies a bounded head of each trained tensor, then reads back one squared-difference scalar. The host checksum downloaded every GPU-resident parameter before and after each checked step: N-BEATS GPU allocation 1.08 -> 0.55 GB. N-BEATS, #1804 workload, 488 steps (all valid windows), median of 3: GPU fused 7.9 s, holdout MSE 0.00083 CPU fused 14.0 s, holdout MSE 0.00066 PyTorch 2.14.1 eager, same windows and batches: GPU 9.6 s, CPU 12.2 s; holdout MSE 0.00137 / 0.00147 The CPU fused path is still slower than our own eager path (12.7 s). It is being profiled next. Suites: NN fused + StreamingStep + FacadeModelOwnStep + RgLru + Issue1822 + NBEATS + NHiTS + Informer + Issue1804 give 523 passed, 0 failed. TFT's batched loop carried its own copy of the eager tape step: record, take gradients, filter to the trained tensors, build TapeStepContext, optimizer.Step. It now calls TimeSeriesModelBase.TrainTapeBatch with its complete trained set (CollectAllTrainableParameters) and the quantile pinball loss. That gives it the fused compiled plan on CPU and GPU, with the eager tape as the fallback. TFT, 4000-point series, lookback 96, horizon 12, batch 64, 3 epochs, one run: GPU 30.6 s eager -> 12.4 s fused CPU 54.1 s fused DeepAR is held back. Its fused plan replays without misses, but its LSTM is unrolled by hand over 96 steps x 3 layers (about 4,000 tiny ops per step), and the plan is slower than the eager loop on GPU. Engine LstmSequenceForward decomposes into primitives under compiled training (no fused backward yet), so the fix is a fused LSTM-sequence backward in Tensors, tracked in #1804. DeepAR|TemporalFusion|TFT tests: 188 passed, 0 failed (DeepAR at its committed state). Refs #1804 Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
…FusedTrainingStep GpuResidentFusedStep was a fourth copy of the fused-step logic. It was static and GPU-only (IsGpuResidentAvailable), and it ran without the checks the base classes run: no #1822 persistence probe, no committed-plan handling. It served 14 SyntheticData generators, the two graph task models and CLAP; on CPU, every one of them trained eagerly. - Training/FusedTrainingStep<T> keeps the same TryStep signature, but now drives a FusedTrainingSession per owner (ConditionalWeakTable). It resets when a new optimizer instance arrives, and it throws when a committed plan cannot continue, except on device OOM or transient faults, as every other base class does. IsAvailable is engine-agnostic: float or double, with compilation on. - 33 call-site lines renamed by script; the dry-run count matched. Three files picked up a doubled BOM from the rewrite, which was found and stripped. - GraphClassificationModel and LinkPredictionModel drop their CanTrainOnGpu gate. They now pass onGradients: ScatterFusedGradients, which NeuralNetworkBase exposes as private protected. Running fused on CPU showed that their fused step never published gradients: GetParameterGradients returned all zeros (GradientFlow and ParameterGradientAccessor tests). SyntheticData|Generator|CLAP|GraphClassification|LinkPrediction: 1509 passed before the gradient fix with 4 graph failures. After the fix, the graph suites give 72 passed, 0 failed. …, step 1) Phase 0 of the 2x-best-rival plan (#1804) extends benchmarks/AiDotNet.PyTorchParity instead of writing a new harness. A first audit found that its numbers did not compare the same work. - Each AiDotNet training step ran Predict (a full forward) and then Train, so AiDotNet did about 1.33x the work of PyTorch's forward + backward + step. The loop now calls Train only. - Optimizers differed: AiDotNet defaulted to AMSGrad-mode Adam, PyTorch used AdamW. AiDotNet now pins AdamW (lr 1e-3, betas 0.9/0.999, eps 1e-8, wd 0.01, the torch defaults) through SetBaseTrainOptimizer, uniformly, because the LSTM constructor takes no optimizer. AiDotNet.PyTorchParity is added to InternalsVisibleTo for that. - Losses differed: every family now uses CrossEntropyWithLogitsLoss, to match nn.CrossEntropyLoss. - Clipping differed: AiDotNet clips at its default MaxGradNorm 1.0, PyTorch did not clip. The twins now call clip_grad_norm_(1.0). - PyTorch synchronized the device three times per step to time its backward, which inflated its step on GPU. Per-step syncs now run only under the new --breakdown flag. Known next steps: - compare.py ranks our p95 against PyTorch's mean and ignores training time. - Devices are not pinned per row. - Initial weights are not shared yet (PyTorch -> AiDotNet through WeightImporter is decided). - Only 4 of the 8 families exist. - Both twins report median and IQR (p25-p75) with the same quantile interpolation, for inference latency and steady-state training epochs. - AiDotNet side syncs the GPU stream after each timed forward and at epoch end, matching torch.cuda.synchronize; GPU rows timed enqueue only. - Training batches are generated before the timed epochs on both sides. - Each model row records its device; --device cpu|cuda (enum) selects it, and a cuda request that does not adopt DirectGpuTensorEngine fails. - compare.py compares median vs median, adds training rows, refuses cross-device rows, and only counts IQR-separated rows as decisive. Part of #1804 (Phase 0, P0.1). Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
LSTMVAE's encoder and decoder train outside the autodiff tape, so no ScatterParameterGradients call reaches them. With their GetParameterGradients overrides deleted, the base accessor reported an empty "never computed" vector after a step that had computed real gradients. AccumulateGradients now publishes the accumulators in parameter order, and ResetGradients clears the published snapshot. FusedTrainingStep.TryStep defaulted maxGradNorm to 1.0, but its callers' eager fallbacks hand gradients to the optimizer unclipped, so enabling compilation changed optimization whenever the global norm exceeded 1. The default is now no clip; callers that want one pass it explicitly. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
The encoder's six gradient accumulators and three of the decoder's four were tagged [TrainableParameter], so ParameterCount doubled, the generated serialization saved them, and an optimizer stepping the model's parameter vector updated the accumulators as if they were weights. They are per-batch working state rebuilt by ResetGradients, so they are now [Scratch]. The gradient tests assert the published length equals ParameterCount. LSTMVAE files saved with the accumulators in the parameter stream no longer load. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
… 0.3.0 Tensors #1275: a backward that returned an arena-backed tensor to TensorPool had it re-rented on the next step while the arena had already reissued the same buffer, so NarrowBackward gradients were overwritten from step 2 under the base-class training arena. TFT narrows its forecast per quantile; its eager step diverged from the fused plan by 2e-2 after 14 steps (gradients 10x too large on step 2), and matches to 3e-17 on 0.137.1. Tensors 0.137.1 requires AiDotNet.Evolution 0.3.0. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
DeepAR ran its own GradientTape loop with a matrix-typed Adam, so the fused compiled plan could never engage (#1804). It now steps through TrainTapeBatch with a tensor-typed Adam. The batch is packed as [L, 1+cov, B] and the forward returns each step's hidden state stacked over its observation row, so the plan replays against every batch without host reads. Windows are filtered once before shuffling, so full batches keep one shape. TapeTrainingStepper counts fused and eager steps. ForecasterFusedTrainingTests asserts that with compilation on DeepAR, N-BEATS, N-HiTS, TFT and Informer run every step fused and land on the eager run's parameters. Refs #1804 Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
…step Autoformer ran one tape per window and summed the gradients by hand, and its delay selection read each window's correlation spectrum back to the host, so a compiled plan could not capture it (#1804). - ForwardBatched runs [B, L] -> [B, H] in one graph. The spectrum is one batched matmul against the constant diagonal-mean operator. Each window's top-k delays come from a rank mask (a lag is chosen when fewer than k lags beat it, ties to the earlier lag, as a stable sort orders them), and the rolled-value aggregation is the masked softmax weights times constant shift operators. TensorTopK was not usable: it returns int indices, which a compiled graph cannot capture. - Training steps through TrainTapeBatch. Prediction is the same forward with a batch of one, so the per-sample forward, its layers and AccumulateGradient are gone, with AutoformerGradientLifetimeTests, which tested only that helper. - Before the per-sample path was deleted, the batched forward matched it to 1e-9 for batches of 1-5, horizon both shorter and longer than the lookback, and two encoder layers. Tests: the batched forward equals each window forwarded alone, the top-k weights equal a stable sort then softmax (ties included), and Autoformer joins ForecasterFusedTrainingTests (every step fused, eager-equal parameters). Refs #1804 Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
… batched embeddings The fused diffusion step needs timesteps as a plan input; the int-only GetTimestepEmbedding baked the traced timestep into the plan (#1804). - NoisePredictorBase.GetTimestepEmbedding(Tensor<T>) builds the [B, D] sinusoidal embedding from engine ops; row b equals GetTimestepEmbedding(t_b). - SupportsBatchedTimeEmbedding marks predictors whose PredictNoiseWithEmbedding takes one embedding row per element and equals PredictNoise per element: UNet, DiT, UViT, FlagDiT and VideoUNet. - DiT, UViT and MMDiT's PredictNoiseWithEmbedding skipped the time MLP, so it treated the documented raw sinusoidal embedding as already projected and returned a different function from PredictNoise (UViT off by 3.3). They now project it, as UNet does. Nothing called the method yet. - MMDiT does not declare the flag: its AdaLN modulation is read through host spans and only row 0 is used, so a batch shares one timestep. Refs #1804 Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
…e forward A compiled training plan traces the forward with no GradientTape active and then differentiates the graph it recorded. DiffusionResBlock, the UNet skip concat and its eval toggle, DenseLayer's fused-linear scratch and GroupedQueryAttention chose their in-place or pooled-buffer fast path whenever no tape was active, so they took it during the trace too. The plan could not differentiate through it: on a small StableDiffusion15 UNet only 4 of 93 tensors that the eager tape reaches received a gradient, and the fused step trained only the output conv. GradientRecording.IsTrainingTrace (GraphMode active, not an inference trace) now also turns those fast paths off; each site keeps its own tape check. All 93 tensors get plan gradients. Refs #1804 Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
DiffusionModelBase.PredictNoiseBatched copied each element in and out through host spans into fresh tensors. That cut the tape, so a batched Train computed no gradient for any weight and Adam never moved a parameter: on StableDiffusion15 0 of the 93 tensors with a gradient moved per step, and the prediction after three steps was identical to the untrained one. Elements are now narrowed out, predicted and concatenated with engine ops. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
The fused diffusion step (MultiSlotFusedStep) baked the traced int timesteps into its plan, so no model opted in (SupportsFusedDenoising was false everywhere), and it lived outside the session every other base class uses (#1804). - The step input packs each element's flattened noisy sample with its timestep, [B, N + 1]; the forward splits them with engine ops and builds the sinusoidal embedding from the timestep tensor, so every replay trains on that batch's own timesteps. It runs on FusedTrainingSession, with its committed failure policy and persistence probe. - LatentDiffusionModelBase can predict from a timestep tensor when its predictor declares SupportsBatchedTimeEmbedding and the model overrides none of the int-timestep prediction hooks (an override could change what it predicts). PredictNoise and the tensor path share the channel pad and strip. - The plan owns the optimizer from the first step. An eager first step left its Adam moments in the eager optimizer and the plan restarted them from zero: one full learning-rate step off per step. - QAT stays eager: its straight-through estimator restores full-precision weights between backward and update. - SupportsFusedDenoising and the model's MultiSlotFusedStep are gone. DiffusionFusedTrainingTests: with compilation on, StableDiffusion15 runs all five steps fused and lands on the eager run's weights; a batched eager step must change the prediction (it fails with the old span-copy loop). Refs #1804 Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
MultiSlotFusedStep compiled and stepped its own plan, outside the session every other base class trains through, so it had none of its optimizer mapping, committed-failure policy or persistence probe (#1804). - It is now a thin adapter: the step's slots are flattened into one [1, N] row and the forward narrows and reshapes them back with engine ops, so the plan replays against every step's fresh slot data. Callers pass the optimizer itself rather than its unpacked fused config. - A model whose weights are created lazily resolves them with one forward outside the tape before the first step. CSDI, AutoDiffTab, FinDiff, TabDDPM and TabSyn no longer gate the fused attempt on parameters existing before the loop; that ran the first batch (or row) eager and left its Adam moments in the eager optimizer when the plan took over. Refs #1804 Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
TensorModelTrainer.Step, which every VisionTaskModelBase and instance segmenter Train goes through, ran its own GradientTape step. With an optimizer and a tensor target it now steps on FusedTrainingSession (one per model), so the forward, loss, backward and update run as one compiled plan when they apply and on the eager tape otherwise. Typed targets stay eager: their loss reads the target on the host, which a plan would bake in at trace time. Refs #1804 Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
Models with their own objective (masked reconstruction, a multi-input operator forward, a physics residual) each wrote a GradientTape loop, so none could reach the fused compiled plan (#1804). - NeuralNetworkBase.TrainCustomTapeStep(input, target, forward, loss, optimizer, parameterProvider) runs one such step on the network's own fused session: the compiled plan when it applies, TapeTrainingStepper.EagerStep otherwise, then the weight-cache invalidation and LastLoss. Each distinct objective runs one forward outside the tape before its first step, so layers only that objective reaches are created before the plan is built. - StepInputPacking packs several per-step input tensors into the single [1, N] row a fused step takes and slices them back with engine ops; a closure that read them from the host would be baked into the trace. …fused session FourierLayer's spectral convolution ran on Engine.FFT / IFFT / FFT2D. Those split-complex primitives record nothing on the gradient tape, so the spectral weights never received a gradient: FNO trained only its lift, pointwise and projection weights. The transform is now one dense DFT matmul per spatial axis (the inverse carries 1/N, as Engine.IFFT does), differentiable everywhere and exact at every length; Engine.FFT zero-padded non-power-of-two lengths to the next power of two, a different transform. Every spatial rank shares that path, so the separate FFT2D path is gone. FNO's TapeTrainStep (a GPU-only fused attempt plus a hand-written SGD loop) and DeepONet's per-sample tape loop now step through TrainCustomTapeStep. DeepONet packs each sample's branch and trunk inputs into the step input. FNO keeps its plain SGD at 0.001. Tests: the DFT equals Engine.FFT / IFFT forward and inverse; every Fourier layer weight gets a gradient in 1-D and 2-D. Refs #1804 Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
…ons.seed - PatchEmbed grouped frames into tubelets with an element-by-element host copy. A compiled training plan bakes that into its trace, so every pretraining step after the first trained on the first clip. The grouping is a reshape of the whole tubelets in memory order and is now one engine op. - PretrainMAE steps through TrainCustomTapeStep. The input packs the clip with its visible-patch map and the target packs the reconstruction target with the masked-patch map; the masked count is read from the map, so a plan computes it from each step's own mask. - The tube-mask generator ignored Options.Seed and drew from a secure source; it is seeded from Options.Seed when one is set. CustomObjectiveFusedTrainingTests: VideoMAE pretraining, DeepONet and FNO run every step fused with compilation on and land on the eager run's weights over several steps of different data. …om the first row MultiSlotFusedStep counts fused and declined steps. SlotFusedTabularTrainingTests: - the adapter, over five steps each with its own slot data, lands on the eager steps' weights; it fails when the forward reads a slot from its closure instead of the packed row, the bake it guards against; - TabDDPM, TabSyn, FinDiff and AutoDiffTab, with compilation on, run every diffusion step fused and decline none. A fused-versus-eager weight comparison is not possible at the generator level yet: their layers draw initial weights from unseeded generators, so two fits never start equal. TensorModelTrainer counts fused steps. TensorModelTrainerFusedTests trains a small linear ModelBase three steps on changing batches with Adam: with compilation on all three run fused and the weights match the eager run. Refs #1804 Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
…r count TrainCustomTapeStep's two hidden forwards each updated BatchNorm running statistics as if they were training steps. Its warm-up forward now runs in inference mode. It also passed no layers to the fused step, so the compiled step's own lazy-init forward, which puts the request's layers in inference mode, ran in training mode. It now passes the network's trainable layers and restricts training to the collected set with Selection, as the network's own fused path does. On CodeSwitchingASR the fused run's running statistics differed from eager by up to 0.1; they now match to 1e-14. Refs #1804 Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
…hared fused session - MQCNN called CompiledTapeTrainingStep directly with an Adam configuration of its own, while its eager fallback used the model's optimizer, so the two paths could train differently. It now steps through TrainCustomTapeStep with the model's optimizer. - CodeSwitchingASR's joint CTC + attention + LID objective steps through TrainCustomTapeStep. Its forward returns every head, flattened and concatenated. Two host reads that a compiled plan would bake are gone: the LID target (an argmax of the reference) is built before the step and packed into its target, and AlignTargetTo pads or truncates with engine ops instead of an element-wise copy. CustomObjectiveFusedTrainingTests covers both: every step fused, eager-equal weights and running statistics over steps of changing data. …ed session TrainStep ran its own GradientTape and an element-by-element SGD update. A numeric-only batch now steps through a TapeTrainingStepper owned by the model, with plain SGD at the caller's rate and clipping off (the update it always applied), and a one-hot target built on the host. A batch with categorical features stays on the eager tape: they are embedded by integer index on the host, which a compiled plan would bake in. FTTransformerClassifierTests: three steps on changing batches run fused with compilation on and land on the eager run's weights. …ing traces A compiled training plan traces its forward with no GradientTape active, so every "no tape -> fast path" gate (in-place kernels, inference compile hosts) fired during the trace and the plan differentiated a detached graph: VAE fused steps moved no weights. GradientRecording.IsRecording<T>() now also reports a training trace, and the gates in VAE, UNet/ResBlock, DiT, conv/batchnorm/attention/feed-forward layers use it. VAEModelBase.Train now runs through a TapeTrainingStepper and reports fused/eager step counts. FusedTrainingSession invalidates the inference and GPU weight caches after every fused step, since the plan writes weights in place. Depends on AiDotNet.Tensors 0.137.1 (pinned here)
Draft, work in progress: every tape-trained model trains through one shared fused compiled path, on CPU and GPU.
Done on this branch
One fused-training implementation
Training/FusedTrainingSession<T>owns the fused lifecycle: optimizer mapping, regularization and clip rules, the Regression: model.Train(input, expected) applies no weight updates (silent no-op) — only BuildAsync trains #1822 persistence probe (on the device), and committed-plan handling.NeuralNetworkBaseruns on it.Training/TapeTrainingStepper<T>runs one step: fused when it applies, eager tape otherwise. It counts fused and eager steps, so tests can prove a model never fell back.FusedTrainingStep<T>(was the GPU-onlyGpuResidentFusedStep) serves the 14 synthetic-data generators, the two graph task models and CLAP. Its global-norm clip now defaults to none, because the callers' eager fallbacks do not clip.Forecasters (#1804)
All six deep forecasters step through
TimeSeriesModelBase.TrainTapeBatch:[L, 1+cov, B], so the plan replays without host reads.TensorTopKcannot be graph-captured.ForecasterFusedTrainingTests: with compilation on, all six run every step fused and land on the eager run's parameters.Fixes found along the way
NarrowBackward's pooled gradient was re-rented while the arena reissued the same buffer. TFT's eager step drifted from the fused plan by 2e-2 after 14 steps, and it now matches to 3e-17.GetParameterGradientsoverrides are deleted;LayerBasepublishes from the tape.[Scratch], which changes LSTMVAE's saved format.Measured (N-BEATS, #1804 workload, 488 steps, GTX 1660 Ti)
