Motivation

Release Oxia Java Client 0.9.6 with the fixes merged since 0.9.5. It includes the write stream backoff (#387) for oxia-db/chaos#8, where the 0.9.x client reconnects to the old leader with no delay during a leader move.

Compatibility: the client now calls the io.oxia.proto.v1.OxiaClient gRPC service (#437), so it requires Oxia server 0.15.0 or later.

Modifications

• Bump the project version from 0.9.6-rc.1 to 0.9.6.
• Fixes: write stream reconnect backoff (fix: back off write stream reconnects after stream errors #387), cancel abandoned stream attempts (fix: cancel stream attempts abandoned by the establishment timeout #388), session lifetime and timeouts (fix: bound session creation and close by requestTimeout #384, Invalidate session on SESSION_DOES_NOT_EXIST in session-bound writes #382, fix: keep the session of a split shard alive on the shards that replace it #391), notification subscriptions on idle shards and across shard splits (fix: keep notification subscriptions live on idle shards and cancel them on close #385, fix: don't time out resumed notification subscriptions on idle shards #386, fix: follow the shard splits in the notification subscriptions #438), fail operations rejected with INVALID_ARGUMENT (fix: fail the operations that the server rejects with INVALID_ARGUMENT #436), and cleanup of clients whose start fails (fix: close a standalone client whose start fails #427, fix: drop a shared namespace whose start fails #428).
• Features: op_index on write batch operations (feat: set op_index on write batch operations #379), the io.oxia.proto.v1.OxiaClient service (feat: switch to the io.oxia.proto.v1.OxiaClient gRPC service #437), grpc-netty instead of grpc-netty-shaded (feat: replace grpc-netty-shaded with grpc-netty #414).
• Performance work on the write path, batching and shard assignments (perf: replace the per-operation orTimeout with a per-client timeout sweeper #419, perf: don't capture stack traces for expected conditional-write failures #423–perf: compute write operations' key sizes once #426, perf: drop the batcher's per-operation Enqueue and BatchKey allocations #429–perf: build each write request once and replay it as is #433, perf: serialize write requests outside the write stream lock #435).
• Upgrades: gRPC 1.84.0, Netty 4.2.18.Final, OpenTelemetry 1.66.0, LightProto 0.9.2.
