Summary

This is batch 3 of moving library code out of openhuman-core and into the vendor/tiny* crates. The core keeps only host, policy and adapter code. This batch covers the two destinations you picked: desktop accessibility goes to tinycomputer, which now also covers the former tinybrowser and tinydesktop code, and cron scheduling goes to tinyflows.

Stacked on #6786, which is stacked on #6785, which is stacked on #6781. All three are merged into this branch. Upstream branch creation is restricted, so the base is main.

Desktop accessibility moves to the new crate tinycomputer-accessibility (tinycomputer#63)

  • desktop/accessibility/ is removed from the core. That is 3,150 lines: the macOS AX/IOKit FFI, the Swift helper, focus, permissions, the Globe key and the terminal heuristics. Four voice callers now use tinycomputer_accessibility.
  • It is a plain library crate, not new bus members. Voice needs synchronous, in-process answers that don't depend on the cdylib being loaded. It also needs Input Monitoring and Microphone checks, focus lookup, paste and the Globe key. The bus PermissionsRequest only covers agent-desktop's Accessibility, Screen Recording and Automation permissions. tinycomputer-desktop would drag in the engine, so this code gets its own crate. The new crate has 13 dependencies without the microphone feature, and none of the browser, engine or agent-desktop stack.
  • The cpal microphone probe stays gated. It sits behind the crate's microphone-probe feature, which the core's inference feature forwards.
  • unsafe is denied crate-wide. It is allowed only in permissions.rs for the macOS FFI, and every block there has a // SAFETY: note.
  • Pin. tinycomputer is a registry module pinned at v0.7.0. OpenHuman pins oh-accessibility-on-v0.7.0, which is v0.7.0 plus this one commit, and adds an exact-expect exemption. The registry record and the module and bus source are unchanged.
  • Platforms checked. Clippy is clean on Linux, Windows (x86_64-pc-windows-gnu) and aarch64-apple-darwin. The macOS tests compile but cannot link on the Linux box, so they did not run.

Cron scheduling moves to the new crate tinyflows-schedule (tinyflows#98)

  • cron/schedule.rs, cron/types.rs and their tests move, 1,466 lines. cron/mod.rs re-exports the same names, so cron::Schedule and the other paths still resolve. The core no longer depends on cron or chrono-tz directly.
  • Persisted and RPC shapes are pinned by wire_tests.rs, using literal JSON checked byte for byte:
    • every Schedule variant, including the bare-string shorthand;
    • ActiveHours, DeliveryConfig, JobType and SessionTarget;
    • full CronJob and CronRun records, including the agent_id double-option.
  • These stay in OpenHuman: the scheduler runtime, store, ops, schemas, bus wiring and scheduler_gate/.
    • policy.rs depends on SchedulerGateConfig, Policy and PauseReason, which are tinymemory-api contract types. Its natural home is tinymemory-api, but that needs a tinymemory release, so it is a follow-up.
    • signals.rs hard-codes OPENHUMAN_* environment variables and pulls in starship-battery through the host feature chain.

Verification

  • cargo check --tests -p openhuman -p openhuman-cli --features "$(bash scripts/ci/product-features.sh)" passes, as does cargo check --manifest-path crates/openhuman-app/Cargo.toml.
  • cargo check -p openhuman --tests --no-default-features passes. With inference off, the microphone probe is compiled out.
  • Full lib suite with the product features: 10369 passed, 1 failed. The failure is the known ordering race in memory::sync_activity::stale_entries_are_pruned_on_the_next_touch, described in refactor(core): move time/goals tools, conversation store and composio execute into vendor crates #6785.
  • Narrower runs, both 0 failed:
    • desktop:: voice:: inference_engine: 389 passed.
    • cron:: flows::: 879 passed.
  • Vendor crates: tinycomputer-accessibility 61 tests, tinyflows-schedule 62 tests. fmt and clippy -D warnings are clean on both.
  • These pass: pnpm rust:layout, check-agent-runtime-boundary.mjs, check-feature-forwarding.mjs and check-gated-test-allowlist.sh. check-submodule-monotonic.mjs passes too, with 16 pins moved forward, once submodules are unshallowed.
  • check-module-pins.mjs passes for tinycomputer through its exemption. The tinywallet and tinychannels mismatches come from test: drop 45 quarantined raw-coverage files, dedupe vendor-covered tests, repoint vendor pins #6781.

Merge order

  1. tinyflows#98, which is stacked on [Feature] Optional cloud upload of semantic graph for personalized model training #97 and docs: REPL / interactive shell design (#92) #96.
  2. tinycomputer#63. After it merges, cut a tinycomputer release, re-pin to it, and drop the exemption.
  3. test: drop 45 quarantined raw-coverage files, dedupe vendor-covered tests, repoint vendor pins #6781, then refactor(core): move time/goals tools, conversation store and composio execute into vendor crates #6785, then refactor(core): move tool/harness leaves, cwd jail, flow helpers and hotkey into vendor crates #6786, then this PR.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • Improvements
    • Composio actions now follow consistent routing across integrations, with egress checks and transfer disclosures before execution.
    • File-state coordination can be turned off by setting OPENHUMAN_FILE_STATE_GUARD to 0, false, off, or no; it remains enabled by default.
    • Scheduling, conversation storage, accessibility, voice hotkeys, sandboxing, and payment features now use shared components, with existing user-facing interfaces retained.

Co-authored-by: Medulla <medulla@tinyhumans.ai>
The entire `cron` scheduling implementation — including `schedule.rs`, `types.rs`, and their test files — has been deleted as it is no longer used. The `tinyflows` vendor dependency was updated to reflect the removal of these modules.

Co-authored-by: Medulla <medulla@tinyhumans.ai>
The cron module's schedule computation and type definitions have been extracted into the new `tinyflows-schedule` crate, which is now declared as a dependency and re-exported through the existing `cron::` public API. This removes the direct `cron` and `chrono-tz` dependencies from the core crate, centralizing scheduling logic in a shared library that can be used by other hosts without duplicating the model.

The Cargo.lock now includes the new tinyflows-schedule crate, which provides scheduling functionality using chrono-tz and cron dependencies. The vendor/tinycomputer submodule is also updated to a newer commit that integrates with this new crate.

…tions

The entire `desktop/accessibility` module has been removed as it is no longer needed, along with its test files and README. The cron module's re-exports of scheduling functions from `tinyflows-schedule` have been reorganized to appear after the local re-exports, improving code clarity without changing any behavior.

…y crate

Move the macOS accessibility helpers (focus lookup, paste validation, permission checks, Globe key listener) from `crate::desktop::accessibility` into the new `tinycomputer-accessibility` library crate under `vendor/tinycomputer`. This decouples the voice pipeline from the desktop module, making the accessibility primitives available without pulling in the rest of the desktop surface. The `inference` feature gate now forwards the `microphone-probe` feature to the new crate, and all in-tree references are updated to import from `tinycomputer_accessibility` instead.

Remove the accessibility row from the module table and replace the feature-gating section with a prose note explaining that OS accessibility code has moved to the `tinycomputer-accessibility` crate, with its microphone probe now gated by the `inference` feature.

…pendencies

Two new crates are introduced into the dependency tree: tinycomputer-accessibility, which provides audio accessibility support via cpal, and tinyflows-schedule, which adds cron-based scheduling capabilities. The openhuman-app crate also removes the previously direct dependencies on chrono-tz and cron, as these are now handled by the new tinyflows-schedule crate.

Merge Risk: 🔵 Low · up to 8e193

Route-unavailable Composio calls can still emit a transfer notice, and the desktop README gives conflicting feature-gate counts. Cron patch serialization may also clear an agent association, but that behavior remains unverified; validate it before treating the concern as resolved. Overall risk is low, with follow-up warranted.

Security Architecture Review

Security architecture risk: 🟡 Moderate · up to 8e193

Concurrent actions during an account or connection-mode change could execute against a different configured account than intended. Existing permission and privacy checks remain visible, but the extracted implementations were unavailable for verifying equivalent protection.

Retained concerns

  • Medium · security · inferred: Additional execution callers now depend on a mutable process-global route without atomic configuration-to-execution binding. Caller A can reconcile route A, caller B can replace it with route B, and A can then dispatch an action against B's route. The route mechanism predates this PR, but replacing operation-specific clients expands its exposure to the generic execution tool and tools controller. Under concurrent differing configurations, arguments or account mutations could reach an unintended configured account. Final delegated behavior remains unverified.
Security review details

Security Blast Radius

  • inferred — The route-isolation concern is bounded to callers sharing one connector process and credentials or accounts configured there. A caller able to submit an otherwise permitted action could encounter the wrong route during concurrent reconfiguration. Arbitrary account selection, remote unauthenticated access, and wider tenant compromise are not established.

Security Findings and Attack Paths

  • inferred — The conditional failure sequence is configuration A accepted, configuration B accepted, then A's action dispatched without a route identity in its request. The head adds execution callers to this existing shared-state mechanism. The resulting wrong-account transfer or mutation is inferred from host ordering; the external module implementation was unavailable for end-to-end confirmation.

Trust Boundaries and Controls

  • observed — The generic execution tool retains agent read-only and user-scope checks before dispatch. The shared dispatcher enforces egress before the connector call. These controls limit action authority and outbound transfer, but do not bind the permitted action to an immutable account route.
  • observed — The separate Composio RPC handler calls an operation that expects caller-side egress enforcement, without locally performing that enforcement. The inspected handler and operation are unchanged between base and head; this pre-existing control gap is not attributed to the refactor.

Resilience and Maintainability Implications

  • observed — Integration tests serialize connector access because one process holds one mutable route. That test-only mutex documents and contains fixture interference; it is not a production account-isolation control.

Hardening Proposals

  • proposed — Bind route identity to each operation through an immutable route-scoped client or execution token, or make route configuration and execution one coordinated transition across every caller and reconfiguration path. Define cancellation and retry behavior so an interrupted transition cannot execute under another account.

Review the tinymemory-conversations contract before merging.

openhuman-core directly depends on tinymemory-conversations. This pin adds the crate, its JSONL conversation store, inverted index, and event-bus seam, while the parent diff shows only the gitlink. Check that the existing callers and on-disk conversation format remain compatible with the new exports and behavior.

Update the intro paragraph so the gated-member count matches.

Line 29 now says "Only one member is feature-gated today." Lines 5-6 were not changed and still say "today only two of its members are gated (see below)". The two statements contradict each other. Change lines 5-6 to say one member.

🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick win

Emit the transfer disclosure only after the route check passes.

emit_external_transfer(egress) runs before create_composio_client(config). Take a signed-out backend-mode user or a direct-mode user with no key. The dispatcher publishes ExternalTransferPending and then returns the route error. No arguments leave the device in that case. The UI still receives a disclosure for a transfer that did not happen.

already_disclosed_this_turn also records the descriptor. A real retry later in the same turn therefore gets no disclosure.

Keep enforce_egress first. Move the emit call after the route check.

Move emit_external_transfer(egress) in the dispatcher to after the
create_composio_client(config) route check succeeds, leaving the route-error
return before the disclosure. Keep enforce_egress first so failed routes do not
emit or record a transfer disclosure.

Omit unchanged agent_id fields when serializing patches.

CronJobPatch derives Serialize, but its custom deserializer treats a present null as Some(None) (clear). An unrelated patch, such as one that only changes enabled, serializes the default agent_id as null; the RPC then clears the stored agent association. Add skip_serializing_if = "Option::is_none" to the outer field so an unchanged value is omitted while an explicit clear remains null. (raw.githubusercontent.com)

This breaks the PR’s stated persisted/RPC JSON compatibility contract. (github.com)

Update the `agent_id` field on `CronJobPatch` to omit the outer `None` during
serialization while preserving serialization of an explicit clear as `null`;
leave deserialization behavior unchanged.

Add LocalOnly dispatch coverage for both route modes.

The deleted dispatch test covered only the old local argument validation. No surviving core-owned test calls execute_composio_action under PrivacyMode::LocalOnly and asserts that connector-module methods::EXECUTE receives no request.

Add direct- and backend-mode cases with a connector request counter. Assert the policy error and zero EXECUTE requests.
