Janus is the Unigrid Control Center: a desktop application for Linux, macOS and Windows that gives you a window on the Unigrid network. It downloads Hedgehog, the Unigrid node program, checks it against the Unigrid Foundation's signature, starts it and shows your wallet from what it reports, so there is nothing else to install. Installing below shows how to install it, and Using your wallet how to create, import or restore a wallet.
The installers are not yet signed with an Apple or Microsoft certificate, so both systems ask you to approve them the first time. These pages show how, step by step:
On Linux, install the .deb or .rpm with your package manager, or unpack the .tar.gz anywhere and run
install-desktop.sh in it to add Unigrid to your application menu.
Downloads are on the Releases page.
Janus shows a wallet: its balance, addresses and history. It does not send, stake or run gridnodes yet.
- Using your wallet: create, import or restore a wallet, and what the dashboard and the activity list show.
- Backing up your wallet: what to keep safe, and what a lost file costs you.
- How to reset your wallet: go back to the start screen to import a different wallet, set up again, or return to an earlier wallet.
- Troubleshooting: the messages Janus shows, what they mean, and how to report a problem.
