An em dash cannot be typed on a standard keyboard without a numeric-alt or IME sequence, so every
occurrence in this repository was machine-written rather than authored. They propagate by copy as
well, since the alignment preset artifacts are copied between packages, so the sweep starts at the
centre and then covers each package.

Replacement is context-aware rather than a blind substitution:

Pattern Becomes
Markdown heading or bold label followed by a dash a colon
Anything else mid-sentence a spaced ASCII hyphen
Numeric ranges a bare hyphen

Scope

No string literals changed. The edits are comments and documentation only.

Verification

  • All four Mago gates exit 0 (format --check, lint, analyze, guard).
  • The repository survey reports zero em or en dashes remaining.
  • Line endings stay LF and no BOM is introduced.

Part of a fleet-wide sweep. The centre (webware-tools) is done first so new occurrences stop
propagating.

Documentation and comment text, plus two console status strings that are noted separately.
