A new board config, fbdisplay/esp32-p4-wifi6-dev-kit_kedei-5in-dsi, for the Waveshare ESP32-P4-WIFI6-DEV-KIT with a KeDei 5" Raspberry Pi-style DSI display (800x480).

  • Display: a Chipone ICN6211 bridge that the panel's own microcontroller configures, so the config writes nothing to the bridge. It sends non-burst video with a continuous clock, one lane, at the timing the bridge holds in its registers 0x20-0x29, using mipidsi.Display(non_burst=True, continuous_clock=True) from mipidsi.Display: non_burst and continuous_clock, for DSI-to-RGB bridges displayif#48. The panel is powered through its controller at I2C 0x45 after DSI starts, and the backlight is set through 0x86. The board config's docstring says how each part was found.
  • Touch: a FocalTech FT5426-family part at 0x38, read by ft6x36. It reads 180 degrees from the display, so touch_rotation_table is the default table shifted two places.
  • Peripherals: Wi-Fi and BLE through the C6 for now. The board's ES8311, SD slot and camera aren't described yet.
  • ft6x36 fix: this controller reports 0xFF in TD_STATUS with nothing touching, and the driver read that as 15 points, a permanent phantom press. 0xFF now means no touch.
  • Listed in board-configs.md, device-matrix.md, display-boards.md and touch-drivers.md.

Proven 2026-10-06 on Brad's DEV-KIT and KeDei, on firmware built with --modules all and this config installed in /lib the way a user would: import board_config reports 800x480, an idle touch reads [], and lv_test_timer.py runs, with the counter counting, the arc spinning and the button responding to touch. tests/test_board_peripherals_static.py passes.

…onger reads an idle 0xFF status as 15 touches
